Wouldn't that cause problems if, say, you get caught sneaking? You press a button to move forward and your enemy sprints up to you and bashes you a few times over the head while you are unable to react due to just having wasted your 8 next moves.

Not much really. Redbull adds sugar and a little caffeine to what is otherwise just a lot of caffiene. Black coffee with lots of sugar has the effect of a hundred redbulls(Number chosen arbitrarily). You just can't drink coffee in the same way without burning your tongue to cinders and and making your sense of smell and taste commit suicide.

That's chemically at least. Redbull also has the advantage of being labled the way it is.

Fluffkind - - 71 comments @ Korea

First of, China won't suffer as heavily as the US will if the two stop trading. China is the dealer and America is the junkie. The dealer might not be able to pay for a new TV but the junkie will crawl up in a corner and cry. That is until other countries take over as factory land and the imports start again.

Secondly, of course China would get involved if N.Korea starts fighting. Just not on their side. There would be a Chinese flag in Pyongyang before the US is even aware the war has started. An exaggeration, but the only reason China allows North Korea to exist is because they don't want an american ally right at their borders. At present, there is no way they can get rid of N.K without all of Korea becoming one massive S.K. Being first to liberate Pyongyang would give them that chance.

Dunno about the original purpose of the tree, but the joke made here is a play on the well-known fact that all atheists are satanic baby-eaters.

Fluffkind - - 71 comments @ Who should be in government?

I have this idea where in addition to a general election that everybody votes in we have several smaller elections, one for each "department of government". The election you get to vote in is determined by your education. Hopefully this would mean less uninformed voters and also less uninformed politicians. When you intimately know the politicians subject it will be harder for him to ******** or rely on rhetoric.

First of, there are more than two parties. If you're disgruntled, vote for someone else. This is actually quite important to the democratic process. Secondly, there are differences.

That said, American politics always seem weird when viewed from over here. I sometimes get the feeling that it's all based on animosity between the parties rather than a legit discussion about policy.

That image is also really cool.

"Is it really a troll site?"
Hard to answer. As I understand it the admin believes this **** very strongly, but I've heard a lot of talk on Reddit about trolling and writing satire in such a way that the mods don't realize it is satire. So you never know if any given article is an atheist troll or a christian nut.

No other agency of any country produces as much technical innovation as NASA. They have an entire department dedicated to finding uses for their technology outside of spacesciencestuff. You probably came into contact with dozens of NASA innovations just writing that comment. And technical progress gives us more, easier and most importantly cheaper ways to help others.

Fluffkind - - 71 comments @ Certainty

I mean that if you accept the premise "Religion X is true" then anything that contradicts that premise obviously becomes illogical. And challenging your belief (the faulty premise) is also illogical since doing so would be a punishable sin. It's a very intricate mind-trap.

Fluffkind - - 71 comments @ Certainty

And this is why we cannot dismiss religious people as morons. Their logic is quite often excellent, only the premise being faulty. And since the logic supports the premise the only escape is stepping outside of their established logic, something not everyone is capable of. Especially not if they're on the defensive.

I kinda wonder what I would believe today if I was raised religious.

That "scientist" he interviewed... Wow. Just wow. I believe science works because god. A result that contradicts the bible? Obviously human error.
Really I feel as though he's trying to justify his fundamentalism by placing science near it, because at some level he does realize that biblical fundamentalism doesn't work.
