Haha yes no worries; there will be more rivers too. But the fact is that I'm trying to optimize the fps with the forest so as to add density preventing our computers to burn. I want the 60 FPS on my system so as to let most people to play with it.

Huge compared to a EAW map. Here an example:

Red: EAW
Blue: Battle borders
Green: Map Sight (not big enough to hide the fact that's the map is just a square as you can see on the screenshot "Phoenix squadron".

If you want to have a better idea, the massassi Temple and Star destroyer are scale 1/1 (contrary to EAW). :p

Well actually it will be more like a Total War gameplay. With battles and campaign.

Galactic Battleground was cool, but it's a bit unrealistic according to me, and I think the same for EAW. Seeing units spawning by magic after two minutes by pressing a button, that just makes me thinking, "it's not how the force works". ;p

Don't think so; just a question of available characters. I just need to do a model for Kyle Katarn and its icon and the fact you can affect a character to missions.

The most diffcult part will be to make the end of the different timelines, where there would have more differences.

But you guess, anyway it wouldn't be for now.

Yep such as "historical" figures; think about Admiral Raddus, Saw Guerrera (well yes that's from Clone Wars I know :p ).

But what I'd like to do in the future is some couple of missions to steal the death star plans, and you'll have to affect to this whoever you want.
Could be Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, or even some guys that own a Bryar Pistol and a Raven's Claw. ;p

Well actually I murely though about it and the answer is.. both.

I will try to combinate the two stories: actually for the early period of the game it will be the cannon state, I mean the events from Star Wars Rebels; but there will be events and you'll have to make choices and according to those ones you'll be able to fight against the Forst Order or against the remnants of the Empire or Darth Caedus. It will depend of your choices. ;)

Yep the Star destroyer will be able to do some things. It's essentially about the orbital strikes:
If you have a fleet around the planet you'll be able to make it participate a bit to the land battle.
With frigates you'll be able to launch some tie fighters from the atmosphere. And the more powerful the cruiser is, the greater number of Tie strikes will be allowed.
If it's a star destroyer you will be able to do orbital strikes as in Battlefront. The cruiser will shot directly to the zone that you've selected.

That's the project.

Well actually, SWBF was one of the reasons why I chose Yavin 4, I'm an absolute fan of the two map in the first game! (The second reason is Jedi Outcast! ;p )

However some of the ruins models are still WiP, I will improve those at least but for now I'd like to work on the battle mechanic so as to move forward and propose you an pre pre Alfa version of the map. ;)

The mandalorian filler is the next episode! It won't be easy to focus on Yavin after it. :p
Anyway I agree that FoC allowed to increase the possibilities for modders.

And thanks for your proposal. I will open a "Thrawn database" for the game: that means I will probably need some help so as to add some elements from the legend extended universe to the cannon one in order to give some historical background to the game.

Actually, I think that I will add many kinds of Mandalorians. As there are different affiliations, as the Protectors, the Death Watch, I will probably add different factions. I'm also waiting for the episodes of the season 3 of Rebels that will make the affiliations a bit clearer.

But anyway don't worry, I will start to work on it as soon as I will start to work on the campaign map! The Mandalorian clans will be the first stuff I will make after the Black Sun organization. :)

NB: About EAW-FoC, I've never been a great fan of the extension, some ideas were good, such as adding a third real faction, and the way they added Clone Wars assets as weapons on the black market is pretty interesting, BUT the whole game is IMO a huge messy pack.

Yep at the begining, I will make one map per planet, then I will start to get some help that will reuse my models so as to create different maps for the same planet. What I'd like would be 4 maps per planet+the HQ map (indoor one).

(I don't speak either about the space battles, I will start to work on it when the second planet will be created).

Actually, the temple will be the goal to reach for the invaders (not necessary the Empire); Then in an other battle the invaders will have to penetrate in the temple, and deal definitely with the last ennemy troops in there. So with indoors maps, it will be impossible to use vehicules or Walkers, only infantry!

About the Rome II mention, I will change it as soon as I will finish the mechanic oh battles, no worries. For the era of the galactic civil war I will start with a small amount of troops per units as in CoH or EaW, but I will rethink it as soon as I will start to work on the clone wars era. It is just easier for the beginning to start with a few amount of men! :)

For the begining I will use the EAW units cost so as to make a basis, I will improve them later when as soon as the first version will be out! :)

But first I have to work on the recruitment system! :p
