I am just some guy. I was a firefighter for a year somewhere in Western PA but that fell apart when I had to move. Now I am the head cook at a major hotel chain.

I love games, especially PC games. Its what I spend most of my time doing when I am off work. That and drinking anyway.

I don't get along well with everyone. If your an asshole, a troll, or someone who can't help but spew all of their depression and problems at their friends, keep back 500 feet cause I want nothing to do with your ilk.

GTAV and PC woes.

Firewolf197 Blog

I love how people keep asking for a PC release date. One of Rockstars execs came out months ago and told us that the PC version is "up for consideration", I honestly don't think it will happen.

"No, Rockstar Games isnt capable of denying a great game to PC users!", You may have thought. If that is true, then what happened to Red Dead Redemption? Oh right, they decided they would probably never release it for PC, that's what happened.

For fun, lets think back, and look at how GTA IV for PC was handled shall we?

Out of the gate it was too late, it was buggy, broken and harder on some systems than Crysis was. Then it was severely hobbled by GFWL and the Social Club. It was not mod friendly, in fact mods were frowned upon and I believe it took a whole year of begging from the community for Rockstar to finally unlock mod support as an after thought. After 7 major patches, the game STILL crashes if you try to run the simplest script mod, or sometimes replace one car with a different one. (Happens to me way too often) And even if I am not running mods, the game sometimes decides to just die, my save games become corrupted and I have to start over.

So with all this in mind, why would you even want GTAV for PC?

Don't get me wrong, I would still love to see it. So long as it was optimized properly and had mod support out of the box. However Rockstar Games has made major mistakes in the past, and part of me thinks they can, and will, make these mistakes again.
