Welcome to my profile. I'm an independent DE-EN-ES translator who just finished an online degree in videogame localization and I'm now trying to get a foothold in the game sector. Aside from the projects done in the course of that degree, I mainly have experience translating different types of texts (adminitrative, legal, marketing) and three short novels on babelcube. If you're interested in having your game or mod localized from either german, english or spanish into any of these languages, I'd be glad to help. I can work for free but, of course, paid jobs take preference. Tarifs depend on factors such as difficulty, urgency, avialability of the game, etc., and are negotiable. So if anyone is interested, contact me through this site.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Become a carpenter and buy the metal parts on the guild market.

I've got a question: if I want my character to get into firearms production, do I have to become a master in woodworking, for the stocks, as well as forging, for the metal parts?

The budget systems seems to be somewhat messed up. I get up about 3000 coins per week/month from two breweries and a wine press my caracter bought with tournament winnings, and I spend about a 1000 for troop upkeep. However after the budget report I lose around 2000 coins, which doesn't make much sense.
Anyone else having that problem?

Any hint on where to get the equipment to enter the Third Legions Base?
Is it a very specific equipment, or do I have to go hunting for any roman-looking stuff in the Hakkon empire's shops?

That must be one hell of a random event if it took out two factions and seems to be keeping the third one quite busy. Looking forward to find out what it is. This will be fun.

I'm playing my first game with this version and I must say: holy guacamole. The Orion Pirate are more of a problem than the other factions. I started as a Klingon, against one federation, one romulan and one cardassian enemy. By now the federation and romulan have been wiped out, and I barely even saw them. I thought maybe the caraadassians went all out dominion and kicked their *****, so I started to massively increase my fleet. However at the point of the latest save I haven't seen any of them and it's been an hour since the defeat of the romulans. Who's is kind of giving me trpuble are the pirates who keep warping to gravity wells close to mine and attack my colonies. My technology level is high enough so they aren't had to beat back, but they come often it's hard to focus on anything else. Not complaining just wondering if this was planned, at least as a possibility. For now I'll keep upping my defenses and taking neutral planets whenever I can.

I found that out through saving and loading. Went for the carpenter in the end. The weird thing was that my "Masterpiece" was some kind of shirt or jacket, however I could open the carpenter workshop just fine.
Anyway that run turned bad so I restarted and I am going for a career as smith now. I guess that means that for starters there will be a lot of mining.

When trying to learn a profession, the Master Carpenter appears as Master Weaver, and for the Church-crafting job, it's a "Master Brewer".
Is it just a naming problem?

No need for that. I was just wondering if it would be possible, maybe through a landbridge or something like that. Oh well, nevermind then.
Now that I think about it more closely, by the time I can think of invading anyone, I should have a considerable economical backing to pay for my soldiers. Guess I'll just have to get even more money sources to pay for ships.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to version 4. I'll make my definite plans when I know what my options are ingame. From what I've seen so far, I think I'll make one of my characters a craftsman, likely a smith or carpenter (to make guns and crossbows).
Another will start as a mercenary, do jobs, get money to buy houses, rent them out, and build a small but elite army. (At least that's the way things turned out the best for me until now)

Will the Mithridians be easier to reach? In version 3 it was pretty much impossible without ships, and getting the money to pay for those is a bit of a pain. (I would like to start my little empire by taking over Mithridas)

I've downloaded the mod and followed the steps in the instructions. Now when the Loader opens it says something about a steam activation code. Thing is my version of the game is from GOG, so I don't have any code. Also once I started the game in "trial mode" it crashed just before I could make to the first town, giving me an "opcode" error message. What is going on? And what can be done to fix this?

I'd like to create a gang of outlaws. Is there any chance of recruiting them in anywhere? Like a specific village, or tavern.
Also it would be awesome if a bank robbery function or mission could be added, unless it is and just haven't found it yet.
I know I could burn and loot a town but it just doesn't feel the same, like rushing in, getting some bucks and rushing out.

First of all: nice work. I really like how this mod puts the vanilla factions into the Star Wars universe, where they can face off against each other.
I've played with the rebels for a while now, they have a different feel about them, other than the empire or the vanilla factions. I'm still trying to figure the best way to play with them, and how to best crush them as well (insert evil laugh). As much as I sympathise with the Alliance, I prefer the Empire, because they've got the nicer toys.
Now I'm wondering, in what aspects will the New Republic be different? Will they get easier access to the cruiser sized ships, or even a different line-up of ships? From what I've read, I suppose they'll have fewer but more modern vessels. I guess their tax income will be a bit better, since they are not a guerrilla faction anymore. Just thinking.

Pretty cool update. I specially like the sturdy look of the dwarven fortress, however there is one thing that is bothering me: enemies suddenly "walking" up the walls. It doesn't happen with all of them but if it happens with a Nazgul, it's a pain in the rear. It was already happening in version 4.0 and I hoped it might get fixed in this update. I hope there is a way to fix this, although it might be a hardcoded problem, since the vanilla version had no walkable walls, so that might be the source of that.

Klasse update.

Nice mod so far, but I've found a problem:
When I try to give orders during battles I get "string not found" for most of them, or no message at all, my soldiers just don't react. This is mainly for the orders to form rows or fire at my command. I've considered copying the files from "With fire and sword" but, since the names don't match up, gave up on that idea.
Any advice on how I could fix this?
For now I'll try re-downloading, maybe some file just didn't get transfered correctly.

Having played some victorious battle as Mordor, I can tell those free orcs can be pretty useful. They're best by using at least one Barracks to pump out horde after horde and send against the enemy "en masse". They are likely to get get slaughtered sooner or later, but it will keep the enemy busy until you can bring out some of Mordors more durable troops. Yes, it does give the enemy a chance to gain experience, but you also get some and never forget how important the numbers game can turn out. So what if takes 3 Batallions of orcs to take down 1 group of swordsmen, the orcs come at no cost, while the continous loss of soldiers will mean a constant drain on the enemy's economy, without taking into account destroyed buildings.

I wouldn't call Rohan weak. In the battles I've played so far, it was with riders that I was the most succesful.
I guess it's a cuestion of ones gameplay-style.

Klasse Arbeit.

Just finished a skirmish where I noticed something strange. At one point several neutral Oberth ships appeared and started buzzing around the system. They didn´t attack or could be attacked, so I'm wondering: What's the deal with them?

Guess it's got to do with kinetic energy and the surface area it is applied to. A slow moving battle droid has less energy than a torpedo that needs a certain speed to be able to hit the target. As for shuttles, they can't pass shields, just check ST 5, when have to land the shuttlecraft while the Enterprise is being threatened by a Bird of Prey.

Just managed to secure Kuat, and boy it was quite a struggle: I had to take on an Executor, two Venators, one Tector and one Imperial Class Star Destroyer, plus several smaller vessels and Golans.
But now that planet's 5 Frigate and 3 Capital shipyards, plus Kuat Driveyards are going to be churning out TEC ships after ships, once I've upgraded my pop capacity. Next step is to secure ressources for those vessels.
Are there any other special Planets already in, or at least planned for the next release? If so, which?
