Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Game review

This game is one of the best I have ever played, and not just in the horror genre. The story was gripping and had me holding my breath waiting for what was happening next. Alexander is so well characterized that I even began to sympathize with him and begin to question Danials choice to kill him. (ultimatly he deserved for all the pain and suffering he caused, but it made me think) You really started to question Danial as the story progressed which is what makes the story so good, I love games that are all about immersion and not just gameplay. (I.E. JUMPSCARE!#$"

That, however, is not to say the gameplay was not exeptionally well done! I constantly felt tense to open every door, no matter what. I felt as if something was following me throughout the game and was scared half the death even when /nothing/ was happening. /That/ is how horror should work; scare the player without even doing anything to make it scary!

I tried, and tried to come up with something to make this not deserve the 10 of 10...I just couldn't do it. This game plays with your mind in ways I've never experienced before, and does it flawlessly.
