Super excited to see this still making progress. :)
Does anyone know if the decision to not have private servers/offline LAN has been changed? I almost supported the project but ended up withdrawing because at the time there were miscommunications about this.

Wow, was just chatting to a mate about ladc today, I was heaps keen about it when it released then never got to finishing it. Now I read the changelog, my enthusiasm is very much renewed.
Sorry devs for being a jerk and promising to let you know of all the typos I found, then never doing it. I kept a record of everything I saw but never actually did anything...
May not get to playing this for a while, but thanks so much guys, I look forward to it. :)

Oh, clearly I didn't look closely at the pic, that hud is for the companion, not the player...
I was meaning to have that style hud for the player, rather than the big fat one that fills up much of the lower screen. To put the whole hud where the player's mana bar normally is.
Ofc I could just find a mod for it somewhere. :)

The first thing I thought when I saw the map in Enderal was "Oh, someone put a lot of work into this 3d one but I really wish that it was just a plain old paper one..."

You guys are the best. :)
(ps love the little hud in the bottom screenshot. Could we have an option to have that but in the bottom left corner?)

Well Radium is apparently 64bit now, so we may see some 64bit stalker sometime in the not too distant future. :)

I know that Epic have always said CoC is single player only, but how cool would it be to see maps like this used for competitive multiplayer, like the extra maps in vanilla CoP?
If one could add bots to the multiplayer maps, and have a few more options for game customization, it could probably become a staple at my LANs. :)

If we are thinking of the same place, I encountered the same problem myself once. On Ironman (hence I didn't bother with regular saves so couldn't just go back) I spent 15min trying to stack barrels so I could jump out. :)
Then I took a closer look and realized that there is still actually a way out.

It's pretty childish isn't it... To be honest it just made me laugh.
Hopefully when/if RoH gets released that sort of behavior isn't what comprises the player base. :I

Kudos to the English rep for being a legend and posting this so soon, plus replying to heaps of comments with sincerity and even making some jokes without being a jerk about it. :)
I'm looking forward to seeing where the project goes and remain hopeful, but it will be tempered with scepticism until I play the actual game.

I actually agree with this. 1.4002 is quite playable, minus a few annoying issues; unless you are encountering bugs that are ruining the game for you why not just finish the game on the current version then update if you want to play again?

Although I've had generally bad weather, I've also had a few in game days of really nice sunny weather. I must just be one of the lucky ones. :)

"Not few, many of us."

Even if it isn't that many, I suspect that it's the more dedicated fans (inc those who would support the project) that will be disappointed by this.

:( and we get this after that amazing dev diary video...

After seeing that password locked section I had the following theory:
1/3 chance it has something lore related, perhaps even very useful information.
1/3 chance it has just useless pictures.
1/3 chance it has porn. (why else would they password lock pictures?)

So it is just random pics. Pity, I was hoping for one of the other two. :P

Hello, I'm sorry if this has already been asked...

Are there plans to include support for offline LAN play? Yes I'm one of those strange people who still goes to LAN parties and I know I'm behind the times. :)

If this is planned I'd love to support this project. This looks absolutely amazing.

It would be really cool if you could get an onscreen message when you get a new point.

Not sure if this is intentional...
In dark valley, when you go to steal the password from the bandits, you have friar blocking the door to the storage room. However, if you open the door, it swings open and pushes him out of the way, meaning you can go and help yourself to the loot and then go and sell it straight back to the trader. :)

Hold on, you are aware I'm asking for sid to give you better instructions, and not asking for map quest markers? Yes, map markers would be spoonfeeding, and it would be awful. :)
I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, but your comments have piqued my interest for some reason.

I understand if you don't like the nv goggles idea, perhaps it is over-generous. :) You can buy your own at that point if you really want.
However, do you really think that Sid giving more precise instructions is being spoonfed? I found I would fail this mission if I tried to go any way other than what he wanted, even if I wasn't actually spotted.

Just finished the mission to steal the military documents, it's really cool to have a stealth mission like that.
Two suggestions for it:

1. Sidorovich's directions are very vague, which I found awkward. I know it's similar to how you can do it in ShoC, but I'm trying to enjoy everything new for LA and not rely on old knowledge. :) Could Sid say something like "the fence on the east side" instead of just "the fence"? There are even two openings in the military fence once you get there, but if you go through the one closer to the base you get the warning and then they "spot" you.

2. When it's pitch black it's very difficult to see how you actually get into the building. Could Sid loan you the cheap night vision goggles for the mission, and then take them back when you complete it? (and you could maybe have sid not reward you if you "lose" them) It then teases useful gear that you would normally only get later in the game unless you save up for it early.

What do you think?

Hey do you guys want us to pester you when we find small errors in the text? That is, things like awkward dialogue, missing words or typos?
I'm happy to keep a list of things I find and let you know, if you care. :)

The head bobbing makes me feel somewhat unwell after a while. After 15min of it last night I finally went underground to search for the beast, rather than trying to get out of its field of influence. TBH I found it more nauseating and frustrating than scary.
For that matter, alcoholic drinks do the same thing, I'm a lightweight IRL but I don't sway from side to side after one beer. :)
Perhaps there is a way to tone the effect down somewhat?

Yeah I thought this too. The range of controllers' influence is huge, I wouldn't think I should be getting that nasty head bobbing above ground when a controller is in the tunnels 10 flights of stairs below.

I hope this has not been asked yet, I checked the last 20 or so pages and nothing on the topic...

I tried installing the latest internal patch from FB today, updating from the dodgy 1.4001 from earlier. (which I was using with the 2database files put back in the folder, without any crashes or problems)

I then decided to delete the User.ltx and shader cache as I was getting the same issue as others with actor legs, that is, no footstep sounds. Upon starting my old save with the new user.ltx I was getting truly nasty bright lighting on DX10 and 11, and couldn't find out how to fix it. (flashlight was blinding bright, underground corridors were like it was daytime) Tried reverting back to the old version and no change. I ended up finding my old user.ltx in the recycle bin, put it back and the problem is gone, although I had my legs back.

Ended up just changing the g_actor_body off and problems are gone.

Still, anyone able to shed some light on the issue? (Haha)

The devs know we are keenly waiting, pestering them won't help them work any better or faster. :)

My concern is that things like poltergeists are normally very rare enemies. If you see them only rarely they are cool and scary, but when you see them all the time they seem less special.

Decided to try 1.4001 today, even if I will need to start a new game once you guys update things. I'm having a great time, no bugs/crashes yet!

One question tho, are we supposed to see multiple poltergeists above ground in cordon? I checked in the tunnels too and there were heaps of them, I would have run out of ammo to kill them all. For that matter, mutants seem really tough, even fleshes can take multiple rounds to the face.

With things like this I reckon it's safer to expect the game to be available the day after "release" date. Dez said a few days ago that he's in CET+1, which if I'm correct means it's about 7:30am now. Then give some time for the poor man to have breakfast and a shower, and then some more time for it to upload, go through moddb's approval process or whatever it is...
It's already 3pm in Aus right now, by the time LA is out tonight it may be my bedtime.

Speaking of which, I actually had a dream a few nights ago that I was playing LA. I didn't think I was that obsessed. :)
