Well, given our current rate of development on the mod, our estimate of Autumn 2012 still stands, however the hardest/most tenacious parts are yet to come so it could be a little earlier, it could be a little later.
In any case we should be able to provide more information on a public beta in late summer at latest.

Well at the moment I'm still without a PC so I'm mainly working on it when I'm round Rex's house, especially since his computer can run Crysis and GTAIV so there's no problems with quickly loading up the game, which comes to my next point; we're not looking for any beta testers at the moment since we're working on the map pieces, however when we start scripting in the missions and suchlike it's likely we'll want a couple of testers, primarily for difficulty and playability I think.
Something else that beta testers will be able to help with as well will be that we'll want a few reviews on REplayability. We've got more realistic plans and better plans than before so if all goes well then you guys are gonna love it.

Don't worry buddy, We're taking a more relaxed approach, and like I said on the main page we're wiser now, we're able to do things we couldn't before, admittedly rigging's a bit fresh in my head after such a break but it'll come back. Also I feel I have to stress that it suprises me no one's done what we're doing before; when I said before that it'll be easier, it reiterates my suprise at it's absence in the mod community. Every day I feel an urge to show you guys what we've done and what's to come, but I've gotta restrain myself.
Just keep an eye on the gates on the summary page. ;)

Yes, I know, long time no speak.
Those of you who are going to read this are probably wondering what happened to the mod.
In short it was just WAY too ambitious for 2 people to have a crack at, it took great patience, rage, and cigarettes to get through what little we did manage.
However after an 18 month break (Jeez, so long D: ) we came back to the idea, reviewed it, and thought like InGens board of directors after the disaster in JP 1.
That'll be all I'll reveal in terms of what the mod will entail; it's a bit of a bigger clue than paraphrasing Peter Ludlow on the summary page after all.
This time we've gone for a details approach; everything so far is perfect, it's got a fair way to go but I swear progress is actually accelerating, how is just beyond me.
I greatly look foreward to when we can release this mod and every time I get on with the work it astounds me how much it's progressed in the last two weeks; from scratch (we started a fresh) to something utterly awesome and beautiful.
Now Evilrex and I have confided to keep images/videos/progress reports down to nil until a time MUCH closer to release, this way yes, it leaves a lot to your imaginations, and it also means we haven't got the pressure building up, and finally, it means you can be as astounded as I am every time I open the game up or the .max file :')

This time, it'll be different, we're older, wiser, know more about modelling, have more freedom in creation, and the development of the mod will simply be so much easier.

Trust us guys, Carnage isn't extinct, just hibernating.

Guys I'm really sorry for the lack of updates lately, my laptop's had a major problem and I can't get on it without a reinstall (I HATE vista). As such I'm going to have to find a way to backup everything on there and install Windows 7, I've been meaning to for a while...
Thankfully Evilrex has most of the stuff for Jurassic Carnage, what little he doesn't have, is the reason I need to back everything up, plus nostalgia and stuff not relevant to JC, of course.
Soon enough I should be back with windows 7 and more updates \m/

I guess it could be possible further in time, after Jurassic Carnage is completed, however some flaws may crop up due to the limited number of pedestrians you can add.

Primarily Workers Village is the priority at the moment, but yeah there'll be a more informative cutscene before the plane crash eventually :D

Since I imported part of the Safari Adventure from JPOG to get a good impression of what it ought to look like.
I think it turned out pretty well, admittedly it's not as low poly as the JPOG one, the gate with the buttons on actually swings open btw.

They're a JP Jeep Wrangler, Trancelikestate used it early in his mod, however the texture is actually mine and I made it a long time ago for Jurassic City, it sucks, it's only there for nostalgia and transportation during the alpha stage of the mod.

*cough cough* it is possible, when I've perfected it for Jurassic Carnage I might tell Trancelikestate a few tricks and tips, don't get me wrong though. It'll be a bitch to do.

@Trancelikestate: Have a look at the King Kong script by ZAZ for a bit of info on dinos doing animations, grabbing objects, and such, it's complex, but worth while. :D

That way no conversion is necessary, you just need to load the raptor's model as special01. :D

Keep in mind though it can only be used in Main.scm, not in Cleo.

Well for player model and weapons, I think we can happily say yes, although they've not been done yet...
For vehicles, we're still playing with the idea in our heads about whether the player will be able to drive around an island covered in dinosaurs in an 18 year old car; since realistically they'd be too damaged to run and/or the fuel would have run dry, we're contemplating having a limited fuel system that could perhaps mean you can make some longer distances faster than walking.
The options are still wide open plains, and we're on the hunt >:)

Yep, it's a save icon, but it'll probably be changed to something more like Jurassic Carnage as oppose to Jurassic Park...
Tbh that was my first ever save object created and script, I'm suprised it worked xD

Thanks for the comments, but Matthew65 I'm going to point out that the raptor has around the same amount of model detail as most other rigged actors in the stock GTA game, as for the texture quality, it is much higher, and this mod isn't intended to have super high poly models with superior graphics as this isn't Crysis and we want everyone to be able to play it.

LOL Those models were deemed "modelname_lo" so we wouldn't use them even if they were relevant in the mod, I notice now you're using "modelname_hi" in your mod...
We don't need anything that you've done, because we can do anything you can do, only prelit, animated, rigged fully, etc etc...
Not to mention, these map models aren't yours, I understand that you added dummies/omnilights, but those can be done with a small tutorial, the models themselves do NOT belong to you. But I say again, we're not using them, since they suck.

When the command window opens for me it says that audext has encountered a problem and has to close, it does the same with audimp, I have noticed that the sfx.raw and sfx.sdt are both 0kb in the setup =\

My game won't work, I think it's to do with my lacking in a rumpo, i looked on GGMM for a peek at my new cars and my rumpo isn't there, could someone help, I've tried manually installing it too, that hasn't worked!!
