Thanks a lot for that great mod. I enjoyed playing it for hours already.
I also played a little bit with the beam textures, trying to make them "flashy" as they appear in the Freespace Game (with SCP). After many hours I came to a solution that makes them look far more powerful like in the real game, "simply" by increasing the length of the beam (like 125x2500) and creating a beam-glow that has smaller and wider parts of the glow (in the same size, smothened the edges). That helped the beam first not appear like an animation being continued, and gave the beam the shaking we all know. If you want to test them vader, or improve that with your abilities, I won't hesitate to send them.
Moreover I tried to get the specular maps working, but failed so far. I can see the red channel of the -da.dds, that seem to be necessary, but it looks like they are not applied in the game. Here ends my competence, at least now.
I know how much work that all costs, so no matter how slow this might appear, keep up with the great work, but don't forget the rest of your life!
