Well I found a way, haven't tested it yet. Basically I used the registry editor to export my entire freelancer registry @ SCHKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MICROSOFT GAMES\FREELANCER as a reg file, so theoretically I should be able to use this file on a new computer and retain my character data yes? Has anyone else tried this method? since myflaccountid.hta reads from the registry, this should theoretically work, can anyone with nothing to lose try it out and confirm this?
And also, is there is way to restore my green relations with some criminal factions if I accidentally installed a House police ID?
say I want to reinstall my OS, or buy a new computer. which files do I transfer to keep my current progress in multiplayer?
I want to reinstall the mod because the bloom effect is driving me crazy. I have experienced some kind of bug where more things glow than are supposed to, then the entire screen just covered by white, I have to go the desktop then back to temporarily fix this, and even without the bug bloom itself makes it difficult to see some of the text and reticles when fighting. So my question is (probably in some FAQ somewhere), will I lose my multiplayer save if I uninstall, then reinstall the mod? Also, is there a detailed explanation (preferable with images) of the options somewhere- eg. I don't know the difference between xxx style one and xxx style two, makes it a bit hard when choosing.
You probably realized by now that I have no life at all, replying to comments using near-full sentences and miniessays... Thanks anyways.
Wasper it is probably because the 2600k is a quad core processor, and freelancer, being old and stuff, can only use one of the cores, giving freelancer a miniscule amount of processing power compared to single core. Let's not forget that if you hyperthread your cpu the processing power distributed to freelancer would become even smaller than *censored innapropriate reference* , and even though your graphics card kicks ***, the CPU still plays an important role in preformance, and even vanilla with its crappy graphics requires a minimum of 600mhz of cpu, so its no wonder that fwtow has some fps drops on your pc.
