Make sure you have installed:
SDL, SDL_image, SDL_mixer, xclip(for copy/pasting) and mono
I already had sdl installed but it kept crashing similar to what your saying, sdl image and mixer fixed it. The games dependancys are listed here Store.zachtronicsindustries.com
