Hi! As far as I know, you have to mod the Darthmod files yourself to use this mod. You can follow this guide written by another user, but I can't guarantee it will work properly (as I made the mod for vanilla): Twcenter.net

It should be compatible, unless it messes with portraits too. Also, nothing is required other than placing the .pack file inside the \data directory in your ETW install folder. Remove it, if it conflicts with other mods.

In case it's not compatible, you can use a Pack File Manager like Slic_John did in a post below, and see if there is an "ui/portraits" folder inside the conflicting mod. Then do as he did to make it compatible.

Thanks!

Great job, you sounded like you knew how the mods worked, so it was only a matter of time before you found a solution.

Hi! Sorry, but the inner workings of Darthmod is not my area, and this mod is made for and playtested with the original game. I think asking somebody with experience modding DM would be a good bet.

What other mods are you using BTW? If it's a similar setup to my own custom overhaul, maybe I could provide a link if you'd like to try it out.

Regarding adapting the mod for DM, I'm unsure as I don't play that mod myself.

I don't think anybody has made that kind of mod just for the kings in NTW. But I don't play much NTW, so I no expert on that modding scene.

Probably not, as the portraits in NTW are already nice. Empire had the CGI art from previous games, so it really needed the work done.

If we get a sequel to ETW with animated portraits like in the modern games, I might adapt this mod to replace that with 2D historical art.

Thank you. Yes, I have my own personal mod stack, with my own and other's work. I've shared it before on Reddit when people ask me about it. Like you, I didn't find an overhaul mod (starting with Darthmod) that really clicked for me, so I made my own. You can read about it here: Drive.google.com

It's mostly up to date, as I've only changed a few details since writing it all down. The idea is to keep much of original ETW's structure, while improving on weak areas. The combat system, for example, is a variant of Empire Realism but adapted to my design. The whole pack includes both AI improvements, graphics, sound, units, factions unlocked etc.

I can send you a link over PM, by tomorrow if you want.

Just checking, did you drop the file in the data folder? Are there other mods installed now, or were there?

Well, I assume that since that mod unlocks factions, it includes a new "startpos.esf" (as that's where the unlocking is done).

So if you did the King Fix before installing that mod, you need to do it again the same way. Thanks, glad you enjoy the mod!

Do you mean that a new general get the old portraits, or...? Because the game has a weird way of choosing the new portraits, as they are not really random. It's a limitation of the game.

NOTE! The duplicate portraits for the king of Denmark and Sweden are NOT a bug in this mod. It's defined as such by the developers at Creative Assembly.

There will be an article up shortly that gives instructions on how to fix this, stay tuned.

Thanks for your interest in this mod :D

Thanks! I know, and that's actually an oversight by Creative Assembly. It's the way the original game is made, but you don't notice it because the CGI portraits are so similar. They are defined to share the same file.

I'll make an article and explain how to fix it. It takes a few minutes to do.
