Atmosphere: 6/10

The game looks alright. Nothing special so far, I'm hoping the dev is planning on making the game more consistent and unique graphic-wise. Same with music. The background music is not memorable and feels generic. It's not bad persay, but it's nothing amazing either.

There were also a few spelling errors here and there, but that wasn't a big deal for me. It would still be nice to have all these little errors ironed out at some point.

Summary: 7.5/10

The game isn't bad, but right now it's in a very unpolished state. I recommend anybody who likes RPGs to try the game out at the very least, but don't expect something amazing as of now. If you think the game is bad, then I do suggest you to wait until the developer finishes the game and has worked out all the kinks and then play the game. I really like the game and I know I will be playing it once it is done. I might even pre-order the game to support the developer if my wallet survives the Steam Summer Sale.

To the developer:

I hope you can will keep working on the game, DaManiak. I would really like to play the finished product and not have to worry about the path-finding bugging out and just enjoy an atmospheric RPG full of choices and freedom. I wish you the best of luck.

Played the free version of the game for an hour or so.

Gameplay: 9/10

I like being a DPS caster in games where it is possible, Oh Wow An RPG Game did not disappoint. I never found a better spell than the default fireball, but the path I started taking seemed very enjoyable. The stat system gives the player quite a lot of freedom to design their own path. Combat was difficult at first, until I found a weapon after some quest that pretty much made combat just a grind, stunning enemies, rendering them immobile and defeneseless.

I like the concept of the game. It's just your every-day average RPG with all the questing, grinding and exploring. It's nothing special but it does what is advertised.

The description of the game made me want to play it. I like games that do not confine you to a specific role, games where you can make your own choices and be what you want to be. Making money from trading and expanding business, joining someone's army for an easy military path or becoming a wanderer of sorts. Sadly, I was not able to experience any of this due to a bug.

Path-finding bugs. I'm not familiar with RPG Maker, so I don't know if the creator of the game or the engine itself is at fault, but this is the biggest turn-off in the game so far. On two separate occasions I had to restart the game due to a path-finding error. On the first time, an orc challenged me to a fight, he got stuck and I was not able to move. The second time, I agreed to take some kid who wanted to become an adventurer out to the woods for practice. After finishing the mission he got stuck and couldn't move anymore. I kept reloading my progress, but this happened every time so I just quit.

The second worst aspect of the game right now is balance. The game is fairly balanced at the beginning. Taking down enemies is tough at first, but once you find some good gear the game suddenly becomes way too easy. It seems the game is just in a starting phase, so I am hoping this will all be changed.

What's with all the hate? Guy spent his time designing and polishing a large RPG, he has the right to price it as he likes. This is a complete product and should be priced as such. How can you blame the creator of a product for not wanting to fork out 20€ for their product yourself? We might as well go and hate on Nvidia for releasing new powerful GPUs because we are not willing to pay for their work.

This game looks like a really good example of "gameplay > graphics". You can't measure the quality (and price) of a game by the way it looks. This is why I am guessing the flamers here are newer gamers who have not had to experience older RPGs, where the devs were able to focus on gameplay since they could not display everything graphically.

I do not mean to offend anyone, generations differ but they do not define a person. Just don't be a jerk because someone values their work differently to what you are used to.

Remembering how much time I spent playing the first ones, I will definitely be buying this at some point. Thanks!

I remember playing a flash game very similar to this some years ago. If I recall correctly, there were two games in the series. If I am correct and that was just a small test, then how much new content are we exactly given for such a large amount of money (for an indie game), in comparison to the flash game?
