That's true, but that doesn't make it a bad idea, I would like to think. The thing is, Tobari is indeed a name that people very familiar with Homeworld know, and we expect them to be out there somewhere. And while there are existing concept drawings for the Tobari that 'could' be used, they amount to a mere handful, and fewer when you consider that many of the concepts probably evolved over time into stock Hiigaran units... the similarities are remarkable. So, if you're going to be making a race anyway, why not bring life to a race people expect to see?

In all likelyhood it is much larger than the Pride of Hiigara. We have some pretty massive Motherships in the works for this mod.

Note#2: cyborgah, I remembered that someone else asked if this would work on a mac earlier in this thread, but then I looked back and saw that it was you who asked that time too. Why ask twice? After all, I did answer the first time... ???

That's accurate enough; I use a mac to model the ships I make, texture the textures I texture, and export the .obj's for the hods. I plan to keep this mod very mac-compatible, lest I myself be left unable to enjoy the project I've spent so much time and effort on.

If I remember correctly you talked me out of folding engines, but the rest of the ship still transforms as a launch animation. Or, well, it will.

Um, if I can make it disable itself, I will! But it's rather early in the ship making process to get overly tied up in making the weapons work just so.

I wish I could be of help, but I'm a mac user. Getting this to run on Leopard was a little tricky; I hope the fix won't be that troubling on Windows.

Well, firstly, let me say no offense taken. But let me see if I can explain myself a bit better. The Hadron Collider isn't a weapon of the ship; it's the main energy source; it provides the antimatter necessary for controlled matter/antimatter reactions and for use in the positron weapons. The reason I said the vents were at it's fore is because the entire rear cylindrical part is the ship's particle accelerator (with added systems like the engines and such), and, well, the vents are in front of that. As for the plumes, it may not make perfect sense, but there is ingame precedent with the Hiigaran Ion Cannon Frigate. So, yeah, hopefully sufficient explanation/justification.

We've one production ship still lacking dockpaths, and one Collector that's still in the texturing stage (mine). My duties in life and as mod leader have made me take longer on that ship than I would have liked, but it's one of the very few things prohibiting release, so we're close.

True enough, but it's more a matter of the Vaygr attacking the Council than the other way around. It is mentioned that the Council has fallen apart by the onset of HW2; we're simply taking creative liberty and explaining that as enjoyably as we know how; by explaining it with war. Lots and lots of war. Anyway, you almost have to assume that they bumped into a handful of Council members in their invasion of the inner rim.

Sorry; I was only including the stuff that's currently in-mod. We have the Taiidan Republic too, which I didn't mention, even though we technically have several ships for them. But only in model format. So don't take it personally!
