The Welsh will be featured in the mod. Not sure about the longbow tho, as far as we know the longbow you're thinking of ( used in the 100 years war ) did not exist back then.
There will be many shields avaiable to the saxon, so if this one isn't quite your taste, don't worry. Normally we would've given a high tier saxon like this a kite shield aswel, but since we already showed a kite shield for the norman, we went with this convex shield. And yes, the shield and boss are historically accurate.

Yes, huscarls are well known to be present in 1066. In case you think they weren't....we have no problem whatsoever with people disagreeing with us ( we actually encourage people to hold us to our desired accuracy and we do change things based on feedback ) but the rule is : Show us proof, give us credible sources that support your theory.
Thank you! Historic accuracy and immersion are the two pillars of this project. We have to compromise in some minor things, but try to stay as period accurate as we can.
The combat system will be completely reworked.
Some of us worked on Vikingr. Bannerlord enables us to do much more. we will however, just like in vikingr, focuss on historic accuracy and a more realistic combat system. Also, Vikingr was MP only.
The plan is to eventually and gradually include all of europe and the relevant parts of the middle east and africa.
That would be arround 200 years prior to what we're working on. We appreciate the offer but in general we do not need any historic advice or research help at this point. You're always welcome to join the discord however, and who knows!
There will be quests with scripted events but you're always free to do whatever you like, you're not bound to these quests. it will always remain a sandbox.
We chose 1066 because first of all we like this norman conquest, secondly it gives something for everyone. However, if we manage to get enough modelers on our team for all the artwork, we will recreate medieval europe aswell.
Just to put people at ease, if the team can handle the extra work ( talking purely about the amount of 3d modelers we will need ) we will add a later period and create the rest of medieval europe and the east.
As it says in the features of the mod, this will be a singleplayer mod.
