I know you guys will learn from this first release and deligth us with more, so
i'm looking forward to it!
It's an amazing take on the stories that could be explored on City 17 before Episode 2.

The Lore, atmposphere and whole feel of the game, plus the voice acting make it really beliveable.

It's really, really belivable as an Hl2 universe story, understanding how hard and how one comes to polish their art when trying to portray something, i'm amazed that with only adding some tiny details here and there it could make the overall mod and maps feel as a real level produced by valve, only because sometimes the maps felt a bit empty, but itself it's an outstanding work, you guys are really close to nailing it with more polish, this could literally make a Half-Life veteran like me cry lmao :'r

Love the idea of rebel metrocops, the scene from the ambush was excelent, only made it a bit anti climatic that the lambda cops textures where glowing all the time, not just the eyes like on the ending scene, i understand vmt's sometimes are a pain.
I din't give it a solid 10/10 because the levels needed some more strenght as i mentioned earlier, for example, Mall was cool but comparing it to the beginning, the level of quality on portraying the place lacked on making it convincing, but as i said, it's a process of learning, and i love what i saw and can't wait for more :)

That and just adding a bit more detail to maps, sometimes they felt a bit empty, making the enviroment not be that belivable, but it's amazing.
Also, sometimes the overwatch messages that appeared on the screen went up too fast, so taking into account the player is paying attention to other stuff, most of the time i would lose some context.

9/10.

No, it can't be ported and the mod itself doesn't use the "custom" folder system since it runs on a branch of Source SDK 2006 i think.

To add a mod you just have to drag and drop to the game folder itself and when it asks you to replace the files with the same name, press "yes". Before you do that tho, take into account that most mods nowadays are made for the newer branches of the Source engine, so they might not work correctly at all, all of them or most of them, at least.

Download older mods, those work fine with the SMOD builds you find on the web.

It's still buggy and super unplayable. I mean, if you just want an excuse, good or bad, to replay hl2, this is your mod but, is it good? No. Go play mmod instead, way better taste over there and less useless stuff on it.

This is why you respect the game, and not just think you are going to innovate by pushing **** in, just because "oh, that looks cool" or "hey no mod has hl2 with csgo guns on it"/"i haven't seen this on any mod lmao", if it hasn't been done or you don't see it everywhere, it doesn't immediately mean "good" or the type of "new" players are looking for. I mean ask yourself first ¿why hasn't this been donde for so long? or ¿why nobody did this, if its so "obvious"?
¿Is it really necessary? ¿Is it really going to add something to the game that makes it better or does it just work on what the game already is?, and if not, ¿how far are you going to modify such game in order to make it tolerate a bunch of unneeded guns or npc's?


¿What was the real intention of this mod? I mean, ¿what did it plan to do to hl2? I can't see it and i never saw other than "just add **** go GO GO" and like, the game being super saturated with things that are just "cool".


¿Have you seen SMOD? And like, the latest redux version, that's what a good Hl2 mod that aims to add new things and change some, looks like, and i din't say mmod because SMOD adds way too much **** to be even compared to mmod, and it's more close to what you might've wanted to achieve but din't.

Test ****, read, plan, ******* be honest and feel what really is needed for this mod to be THE mod. There's been so many **** that's been donde, learn from that instead of just thinking this just works because its "cool".

More isn't always better, and if you add a shitload, ******* make sure the quality is good at least.

Ask yourself why some of the stuff you re-added to the game wasn't there when the game first launched, why it just din't work, and then after you've figured it out, MAKE IT work for the game, and no, it's not just porting **** and fixing it for it to work on the engine, i'm talking gameplay wise.

Think ahead.

Hey! I played the demo, and first of all, i love how you portrait everything, even the small details like the headcrab variant you added that made it look with a mix of the gouldsource/source one, to the ambient sounds,

Everything felt fine imo, the only thing i think you could improve on are the ally's AI and some other stuff. But overall it's really, REALLY ******* good. Your maps are not the usual "go find batteries and put them in these tree slots" or any sort of clicheish stuff you find most people do when somebody tells them to do a half life 2 map. And i think this is because of the immersion and that there's an actual story behind. Nice job!!

Now to my feedback, since i know you guys need it

All the npc's have a tendency to rush you, so if you hold a corner at the right angle, or just have a somewhat decent reaction time and decent aim, you can just wait for them behind a door entry and kill them easily, making something like hard difficulty lose it's point, and they also have the tendecy to stack up on eachother due to the fact they all rush the enemy at the same time, it can make things a bit overwhelming if you're catched off guard, like on the vorts ambush, but i managed to do it on the third try after actually paying attention a bit, and learning where they spawn and just manouvering around them since the rushing pattern is kinda predictable, also, since they like to stack up on eachother, getting the timing right of when to throw the xen relay grenade can make that fight end really fast, since you can take out most of the vorts, and you're just left with one or two of em, this makes the fight less rewarding

The same happens with the soldiers, they have a tendecy to stack up when you send them to a place, of course, i kind of understand why it happens, but them stacking up makes it easier for a rebel to toss just one grenade and leave you with no allies left.

Also while playing there was this one occasion two soldiers went at the same time for one rebel, and all tree (the two soldiers and the rebel) died at the same time because of this.

Idk if this also made the nova prospekt guards rush the antlion holes and take damage from the grenades deliberately, or if it was me just moving too fast on that case and when they tried to catch up to me they ended up getting kinda close to the grenade explosion, but still.

The hunter also gets kinda overwhelmed by bullsquids, on the APC section, two bullsquids rushed the hunter and instead of maneuvering and gaining distance, he went for the melee attacks, and since bullsquids kind of have a faster melee attack than him, the hunter din't know if to shoot, run, or kick. What would be best is for the hunter to just run backwards and shoot.

Also, i think you guys might've already fixed it, but the ambush from the "portal rebels" or the rebels that have crossbows, it's such a ******* good concept, and it would be very ******* scary, if only the rebels could actually shoot the crossbows, when i realised they couldn't i just stood there and saw how they all aimed at me, but din't shoot anything.

Just to let you know, i played it all on Hard difficulty, or "Combine soldier" difficulty, i think that's how it's called (?

So, to me the enemies are balanced in terms of damage and health, as long as you keep in mind that you are not gordon freeman, and that you die as easily as a combine soldier from OG hl2, i think its part of a game to learn how to take on enemies, and making you to be less of a bullet sponge and more of a guy that can actually die if he ***** up, makes the game really, really better.

If you need anything, just let me now! i'm willing to help, and also, i hope i don't sound kinda fussy, i understand that these things are not easy, and complaining is way easier than sitting down and doing all this. I really respect what you guys do, and i just want to help you guys do better and reach that goal of yours.

Hey! I was wondering if someone actually got the original hl2 soundtrack working on the CM2013 version, since playing the game without it's original soundtrack feel's kinda off

I tried putting the sound/music folder onto the "HL2MMod_Cinematic_HL2" folder, and also into the respective "my_custom_stuff" folder, along with "scripts/level_sounds_music.txt", but it doesn't seem to work

Am pretty sure i'm doing something wrong here, just hoping i could get some help or feedback :'l

You can make an autoexec with the two commands that fix the ai disable to not have to open the console everytime you run the game, and that's it.
