I'm playing via Zandronum v3.1. And my PC is too old too. 3.O Ghz dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 256 MB of VRAM. Running Windows 10 from SSD while everything else works from HDD. So every mod that I play runs either under Zandronum or LZDoom. And I don't have this problem with other Doom mods, like Brutal Doom v22 for example.

Nice but this still needs a lot of work. Like, after I take grenade launcher and fire, the explosion effect starts slowing down the game to the point that I can't even see the sprite of the weapon. And after that game just basically works at 1 FPS. And I'm not kidding. Then there is a lot of options missing, for example those that allows you to turn ON or OFF new enemies or weapons. Heck, you can't even change the size of new hud or cross that you are aiming with. So yeah, this mod needs a lot of work. Like A LOT! Hell a lot, before it actually becomes fully playable.

And then, this might be everyone's personal preference, but the motion blur on weapons is just ridiculous and it hurts my eyes. So I would remove it and make sprites of weapons clean.

Reporting a bug, or to be more precise a game crash. On Doom 2 the level Blood Citadel, that comes after Hellgate, does not load. And instead it gives me error via console command, saying that: "Unable to open map PSmap17". Which means that I can't continue playing. So yeah, fix that!

Great mod. My only complaint is that, this mod is not compatible with attached flashlight mods. Like duct tape mods or headlights mods. Because, if I install this mod and then one of those mods on top of this one, it either affects the gameplay, making it feel like vanilla, or many of the sounds stops playing.

So yeah, would be great if this mod could be compatible with other mods. That is my only complaint.

The mod sucks in my opinion because of few things.

First of all, the flashlight is attached to the weapon that you are holding and not to your character.

Second, you can't turn OFF the flashlight when you don't need it. It just stays always ON and that is very annoying because, in bright places where you don't need the flashlight it makes everything too bright when there is too much light, blocking your view.

Third, it doesn't replace regular flashlight. It just another light source attached to your guns.

And fourth, it is not compatible with weapon mods or any other mods. Which means that you can't use it with any other mods that you want.

Ok, so I tried what you recommended to do and it removed sikkmod, but for some reason the lag is still there. I reduced all graphics to minimum and it still lags when I shoot some guns. So yeah, screw it. If I can't play your mod then screw it. I will find something else to have fun with.

I also tested Doom 3 with few other mods, like Classic Doom 3 for example, and it worked great. No lag, no problems at all. So I guess that there is something wrong with my copy of the game if it works with some mods and doesn't work with others.

Well, on my PC lol. Sure, it is not hi-end modern expensive hardware, but it runs games very good. Not all of them, cause for some reason on Windows 10 most of the old games not just lag, they simply don't want to work properly, while before Windows 10 when I was using Windows 7, everything worked great. I guess that Microsoft really screwed up their last two Windows versions.

And yeah, I will do now what you told me and see if it works or not. And I hope that it will do the trick.

Ok so I have not played this mod in decades and decided to come back to it and check it out. And... well, I don't know, maybe the old version from back in the days were good, or maybe I was enjoying games too much as a teenager back then, but playing it these days doesn't give me us much enjoyment as back then for many reasons.

First of all, I still decided to get old version instead of remastered version, because I don't have hi-end expensive PC to play it smoothly, but even old version runs like a dog ****. It lags even in the places where there is no details at all while vanilla Doom 3 works fine.

Second, the dodge mechanic is too sensitive, and thus when I even slightly press strafe left or right, game sends me flying in to the air. Or even if I'm walking simply forward, slight tap back or forward button will do the same. Which is why playing is freaking impossible, because like I said, game sends you flying all over the place.

Third, because of lag I tried to set graphics to the lowest possible in the game, but it not just didn't helped me but in general nothing changed at all. Like, I can set graphics to ultra, high, medium, low or lowest and it will still remain the same. Even the change of resolution doesn't help. Maybe because I'm running it on Windows 10, maybe not, I don't know, but back in the days on the very same PC that I'm currently using, I was able to play this mod without any problems. So what it is and why it works so badly, I don't know.

And on top of all that, the combat in this mod are a mess. Like, I don't even know what I'm doing. I'm trying to switch weapons with my mouse wheel, but it scrolls so fast that I can't even see what weapons I had. The demons were pain in the butt because of the strafe that sends me flying all over the place with just a little touch of strafe button, and I just can't aim properly because of it.

So yeah, in conclusion I can say that, back in the days I loved this mod in it's first versions. I even burned it on one of my DVD discs to preserve it for myself, but now, playing latest version (not the remastered one) not just gives me motion sickness, but also works like it is not a 2003 game, but a modern triple-A game that I'm trying to play on my old PC. Thus it saddens me that I can't play this mod again. Cause one aspect of this mod that I enjoyed the most is the fact that, you can play as monsters, such as Imps, Hell Knights, Pinky Demons and others. I was dreaming of playing some kind of mod like this, that would allow you to play as demons, but sadly this mod right now for me doesn't work properly and I have to forget about it until, probably, maybe, someday I get myself modern PC.

I don't know what was the problem with the lights. Cause, in vanilla Doom 3 without any mods everything is fine. But when I put your mod in, it suddenly becomes darker. And then, when I shoot any gun, the game lags very hard. Especially when I shoot SMG. You know, that black one.

And then I decided to test the game with some other mods. I downloaded mod called "Weapons of Mars Destruction", installed it and everything worked fine.

So maybe you can release just the gameplay aspect of your mod, without any graphical changes? Just the gameplay part of it, with guns and Halo gear for the marines in the game? Please?? I mean, I would even pay you if I had that much money.

Man, good old Classic Doom 3. I still love it. But there is things that needed to be changed. For example the classic Doomguy look. He looks weird. Like, he is way too much low poly, like it's not 1997 game or something. Like look at him, his stomach is where his crutch supposed to be. So yeah, I would change his model to a different one, or just make a new model based on Classic Doomguy skin from Doom Eternal but with the standard Doom 3 graphics. Same with weapons. I would change them completely cause they look weird. Like, I would change Doom 3 pistol to Beretta 92FS, standard Doom 3 shotgun to Mossberg 590 with wooden look just like in classic Doom. Same with minigun, I would change it to something better with faster rate of fire. Probably to the same rate as in vanilla Doom 3. Same with Rocket Launcher because in this mod it looks like a simple tube with wires. But yeah, the mod is cool. The only thing that needs changing or updating is Doomguy and weapons.

Your mod doesn't work. Cause after I start the game, the cutscene with spaceship approaching the UAC base is not playing and then during the game I can't see anything, only HUD. Like the image is pitch black. I press movement buttons and hear the sound but I don't see anything. And yes, I removed sickmod from the game as you stated in your comments but still, I don't see anything during the gameplay. Everything is pure darkness.

UPDATE: I removed few more sickmod related files and it worked, but then I had to mess with settings a lot to make your mod actually work. Like, I have to change aspect ratio via editing config files to have proper ratio, because I'm playing on big square monitor and seeing image been squashed from the sides is not nice.

But the problems didn't ended there. Cause despite the fact that I am able to play actual Doom 3 on ultra settings, your mod does not wanted to work on ultra settings. Thus I had to lower my graphics to high or even medium, cause it was constantly loading something every time when I move. And just right after when I solved this problem, I have another one.

And that another one is new visuals. You see, original Doom 3 graphics made in the way that, despite how dark the game is, you still are able to see everything around you. But in your mod the image is so sharp that I can't even see enemies that shows up right in front of my face. And I'm not kidding. Your new visuals make game so dark that I hardly can see enemies right in front of me, and since you can't hold a gun and a flashlight at the same time to shine the light on enemies, I had to pull up the flashlight to see who to shoot and then shoot the enemies. And then also when I shoot from some guns or getting shot back at by enemies, I have a huge FPS drop from stable 30 - 60 to 15 - 10. I don't know what you did to your mod but, for me at least it is unplayable.

So in conclusion, here are all pros and cons of your mod.

Pros:

Improved gameplay.
New guns to play with.
Changed characters here and there.
A bit changed HUD.

Cons:

New visuals that makes the game even darker than before.
Shotgun does not allow you to shoot it right after the first shot like in vanilla Doom 3.
No flashlight attached to your suit or gun to allow you to see in new darker visuals.
Performance issues.
If you remove the sickmod then you don't get to use new abilities, like built-in to your suit flashlight and other stuff.
Sickmod that doesn't allow you to even start the game.

Thus what I would recommend you to do to improve your mod and make it better is:

Remove sickmod by default.
Improve performance.
Stick to default Doom 3 graphics, outside of new Halo based graphic elements.
Add attached flashlight option, so that players can use the flashlight however they like.
Add visual settings from Doom 3 Enhanced Edition mod, so that it could be possible to set any screen resolution with any aspect ratio.

I don't know if anyone reported this bug or not but for some reason, after I pick up a Plasma Rifle, use it for a bit and then put it away, it disappears from my weapon slot like I never had it. I don't know why it is happening, maybe because I used a dual plasma rifle to kill enemies, but it is very annoying. Especially when you wanted to take down bigger enemies and wanted to use your plasma rifle, but it is freaking disappears from your slot. And yes, I am sure that I had enough ammo for it.

And then the one problem that I still don't like and consider as a problem is the Cyberdemon. He is still OP walking sponge that takes decades to kill. Literally, I wasted freaking hour to try to kill him and I still can't do it. And the rocket launcher that I used against him doesn't do ****. Even usage of plasma rifle doesn't help. And yes, I'm talking about version 22 of the game. Like, it's not fun to fight him, cause again, he feels unbalanced walking giant sponge, that sucks-in all the ammo and other crap that I throw at him and does not have enough. So maybe nerf him a bit to make it all fair, or just make weapons more powerful against him? Like, seriously, man. I had this issue with Cyberdemon since probably version 21 of the mod. Cause in version 19 back in the days he wasn't this annoying and frustrating and did not took so much time to kill. And yes, I only have this problem with Cyberdemon. Every other boss is fine.

Oh my god, thank you very much for the fixes. This game was lagging and stuttering very much on Windows 10 but after installing the fix from the archive, everything started working fine and very smooth. So yeah, thank you again.

Doesn't work for me. All I get from this mod is main menu with different settings that has no effect on the game. And in the game, gameplay is standard to vanilla Half-Life 2. So yeah, I'm not even gonna bother with this mod. I was waiting for it's release back when it started, but now I'm not gonna even waste my time. There is tons of other mods that will work, so why cry about one that doesn't do me justice? So yeah, I quit. I had enough. Wasted 1 GB just for this junk.

If you are using my save file then it happens because the game is complete in that save file, and all levels are unlocked. That is why it does not save you on checkpoint. And after you exit to main menu, it does not allow you to continue from the checkpoint because there is no reason for that. That is how this game is made.

The mod is great but there is a LOT of bugs and glitches that simply prevents you from progressing further. For example, in the episode where you have to sneak past the Gargantua while it fights HECU soldiers it should not attack you because it should be focused on those soldiers. But when I try to run past them, Gargantua suddenly switches his attention to me. That didn't happened in vanilla Half-Life.

Then, when you need to lure Gargantua in to electricity, Gargantua should not stand in front of the exit from the control room where you are at and later, when you run to the control panel where you supposed to turn ON the power, Gargantua should chase you, and then get in to electricity and explode. But in my case, he was standing right in front of the exit from the control room near the rails, waiting for me, and when I ran out of the room he did critical damage to me, killing me in the process, and that should not happen. And then he does not follow me to the tunnel to the control panel where you supposed to turn ON the power and kill Gargantua. He simply stops in the middle of the tunnel and does not follow me at all.

Then, when you are start riding that little train and get down the elevator after you killed Gargantua and talked to Barney, after the loading screen in "On a rails" episode game simply crashes back to desktop without any error whatsoever. The only way to fix it is by loading it from the main menu, but then you will not have all your weapons and that means that you have no point to play further because you are simply losing your progression.

And there is many other bugs and errors like these that simply prevents you from progressing further. So yeah, fixing these bugs and glitches with a simple small patch would be a good idea because, right now this mod is unplayable at all.

It unlocks all extra skins BUT it also breaks the game. And after installing this unlocker, the doors became broken, I can no longer go through some doors, which means that I can't progress further. And then, when I got to the giant machine and pulled the lever to raise the platform with another lever that you have to spin, the second lever that you have to spin is not there. He is simply stuck underground. So yeah, I guess that it is better to skip these skins because, they are a no big deal, if you wanted to play the game. Thus, DO NOT INSTALL THIS UNLOCKER or it will break your game!

Hey, Zio. Nice to see you return with new updates for your mod. Anyway, i tried out your latest version of the mod, which is 6.5 and it is a LOT better than what was before that. I really enjoy all the changes that you done to your mod. But, i would like to see some more changes, such as faster weapons reload and or improved levels look.

Faster reload, in my opinion, would be a good thing in a tight firefight. Like, when you get too many enemies at the same time, it is crucial that you could reload your weapons faster and shoot back at them. And that would also made the action faster.

And the improved look for the levels, would make them look better. I mean, i know that you have done some changes here, but the levels still look like a maze of the same looking corridors. Especially in episode 1. I even sometimes got lost while trying to find another key, to unlock the exit. And that is the problem of OG Wolfenstein 3D in general. So yeah, fixing that would make your game even better.

Anyway, nice mod. Played it whole night yesterday, and didn't noticed that it is already morning lol. Good luck in your development of the mod.

So, is Brutal Doom is still alive? Because, there is no information from Sergeant_Mark_IV. Not on his youtube channel and not here. And i don't know any other place where he shares the development information. Sure, he said that he is gonna do version 22 but since then, he gone quiet.

And what about his other projects, like Brutal Doom 64, Meatgrinder and Brutal Fate. Is he gonnna do something about them or those projects are dead? Like, come on man, as a long time Brutal Doom follower, i need to know. I have been following Brutal Doom since version 19 and i need to know, if my favorite mod is still alive or not.

This is one of the only mods that works for me with GZDoom via GLES render. But for that i have to sacrifice a dynamic lights by turning them completely off because, with them, it lags like hell, but without them, it works smooth. And i hope that gzdoom team could fix that, but i doubt it because, as i understand, they don't care about what others want. So there is no hope in that.

Anyway, cool mod. But there is many bugs that i have noticed. For example, if you shoot shotgun zombieman legs of, to make him sit and shoot at you, you can't kill him by shooting at him with simple guns, while he is sitting on the floor. Because, his sprites at that point does not have hitboxes. So the only thing what you can do is, to stomp him or to shoot him with rocket launcher. The grenade will also do the trick, but still, i hope to see this bug fixed.

Also, why i can only get automatic shotgun in Doom 2, but not in Ultimate Doom? I mean, wasn't the Ultimate Doom made on Doom 2's engine? Like, you could allow it to spawn in Ultimate Doom too.

I'm glad that you like them. I have plans to make more, but some of them might be hard to make, since the texture doesn't place itself properly, even if I edit it the correct way. And that is because of broken texture placement on 3D models in this game.

And thanks to that, some of the skins that I were trying to make already was cancelled. Like, I was trying to make a Doomguy skins pack from Doom series, but guess what. Thanks to the texture placement, it look really bad. For example, bottom of the sleeve of Claude's jacket is also applied for the lower back of his jacket. So, if you put a skin color, to make his hands look like without sleeves, then the lower back part will also have that same skin color texture.

Does this patch fixes the performance problems? Cause, i got a gog version and i have a massive lag problems. The start of the game is fine, until you get to the bank. And only there all the problems starts to show up. Like, when i shoot someone, game just lags, or when i pick up some item or something.

And i don't have a problem like this in OG Postal 2 Complete. Cause that game works without problems for me.

So, i have tried this version of this mod/port and... it has many things that has to be fixed or changed. So, if anyone wanna try it out, here is the list of things that might ruin (or not) your gaming experience with this game:

- The free camera, that you turn around while driving any vehicle, will reset itself back to standart position, every time you turn it around. It is so anoying that, after some time, it made me feel dizzy.
- The jumping animation looks off, if you look at it at the side angle.
- You will fall from the bike every time you even slightly touch any barrier, which is really anoying.
- The "lean forward" and "lean backward" buttons, that allow you to lean while driving the bike, will also turn camera up or down. Which is anoying too. And you can't even remap it because, if you remap leaning buttons, it will also remap camera buttons on your keyboard.
- There is helicopters in this game which you can fly only during the missions, but not during the free roaming. Why tho? I mean, i know that it was that way in original version of the game but, you don't have to repeat the same mistakes in this port. Just improve on them and fix them. In this case, just add helicopters to the landing areas and call it a day.
- It is near to impossible to get some packages in the game, that are scattered all over the Liberty City. Again, i know that this was the case in original version, but like i said, you don't have to repeat the same mistakes in this port!
- Your protagonist gets tired very fast after running fast for few seconds. So why not make him run for longer period of time instead of few seconds? It would help a lot in many on foot missions.
- Game still crashes during, before or after some missions. Thus need a fixing!
- The target aiming with Right Mouse Button while you don't have gun or any weapon in your heands, does not work or indicate that you are aiming.

Not a bad mod but it ends there, on "not bad". Cause, it has it's own minuses. I enjoyed it a little bit, and i understand that this mod is still in what, alpha or beta state? But still, it could have been better than it is. And here is my problems with it.

1. The controls are not the same as in CS. Yes, i get it that you were trying to do something new, but you know what they say: "if it didn't break, then don't fix it". And i would rephrase it like "if it works, then don't change it". Thus, you should probably made controls by default as in original CS 1.6. But that is just my opinion.

2. The game mode selection is only available when you are in the game. And yes, i'm playing offline with bots because, i hate playing with real people do to many simply cheating. But, why put a game mode select menu in pause menu, when you press Escape on keyboard? Why not make it so that, it shows up when you are selecting a map, like, let's say in CS:GO? And i'm sure it's not that hard for you, if you made it this far with your mod.

3. No HUD is terrible idea. Sure, i know that you are aiming at "hardcore" experience, BUT why not add an option, at least, so that player can choose if he want to see HUD while playing, or not? Cause, to know the info that i need, i have to press and hold TAB, and that is counter intuitive. So yeah, making HUD always ON by default, or making an option for player to switch On and OFF the HUD would be good idea. That also means the crosshair too.

4. No original CS 1.6 maps. Seriously. New maps is, somewhat cool, but not to the point when i wanted to play them. They have weird design and only comes to an empty arena, with few places to hide, where you shoot opponents or they shoot you. Thus, bringing classic CS 1.6 maps back would be cool, cause default maps is not that great, for me at least, to play them.

5. Weapons buy system. I don't get it, how it works. I mean, it is there and, one time it works, and other times, i lose a round and wanted to get more powerful weapons to fight back, but when i respawn, i seems to can't buy weapons simply because they are not available to me. Also, buying equipment or gear by pressing 6 on keyboard instead of 8, is kinda weird. And yes, i had enough in-game money to get new weapons, but they simply not available to me and round continues only with pistols, which is sucks. But, maybe that is just me and that i don't understand something.

6. The game in general is counter intuitive. I mean, there is a tons of new stuff, but i don't understand how it works and what it is. Cause, many of that stuff is not intuitive to the point when, you start the game, see the new stuff and start to learn it. So in general, i would like to continue playing your mod, but like i said, it is counter intuitive, and thus i don't feel comfortable while playing it. So there is like 2 version of me, fighting each other inside me. One want to play your mod, and the other one don't. But in general, i feel like i should skip it for now, until, maybe, you get your mod to work and be better. Until then, i have interest in it, but when it comes to playing it, then i don't want to play it cause, like i said, many of the new things is counter intuitive and thus is what making the game not fun to play.

That is all my problems that i have with your mod. If you want to reply to me, then do it via personal messages, cause moddb doesn't let me know, if anyone replied to my comments or not. Thus, i would not know if someone said something to me or not.
