So just wanted to clarify, there are no Multiplayer Campaign maps? Even just a basic one?

Will there be a way to un-Mothball the ships after you mothball them? I mean in a pinch it could be a reserve fleet that could just save your skin.

Try downloading an application called Gameranger to host the LAN connection. It seems things like Hamachi or even a physical LAN connection has the issues of not showing games or players. There are some other applications like tungle for example that also might be of some use to you. The issue with these programs is you can't select a mod through the game, so you will need to make a copy of the games data folder and then overwrite the data folder with the mods data.

@ThatOneBullet
I desire to run the mod by merging the games main data folder with the one from this mod. This works for most if not all other mods but for some reason when I try to do this with this mod the game crashes on the initial splash loading screen and there is some information about a parsing error. The reason I want to run the mod this way is so that I may use GameRanger to play online with a friend and GameRanger doesn't allow for users to set launch options. Do you know what might be causing this error?
Things I've tried-
-Merging the vanilla and mod data folders (in that order)
-using just the mod data folder

I am using the Steam EaW Gold Pack and the mod works perfectly fine if I install it normally.

I am posting this a second time because I did not receive an answer and the previous post is now several pages buried.

The installer does install it to your mods folder, everything except the AI file which goes into the main data folder so make sure thats a fresh copy on install.

I withdraw my previous question, didn't read the fine print. Will there ever be a multiplayer era system?

I know this mod probably wasn't intended to be played in actual multiplayer, but I would like to say that if you do a Galactic Conquest (at least on Thrawn's Campaign) there are no heroes spawned in the match and it was impossible for my friend and I to advance in era. Just wanted to know if this was an error on our part or just a short coming of the mod? And if there's anyway to fix it? Great mod, had lots of fun and my friend enjoyed it as well!

That has to do with the game engine itself and generally wouldn't be affected by the operating system you're running, but much more related to your hardware. Even with the best there is a hard limit on how well the game can perform.

I was able to get LAn to work with mods using a program called GameRanger. You will have to install the mod over the games data folder, so make sure you keep a copy of the vanilla data folder as a backup. Also make sure to turn off all firewalls, anti-virus, and open all the necessary ports for the program while running the game (I recommend you turn the firewall and antivirus back on afterwards).

It sounds like you either renamed the data folder in your Forces of Corruption main folder to something else and forgot to make a copy of it and leave it named 'Data' or you took the 'Data' folder inside of the AotR2.6 mod and tried to overwrite the main data folder with this one.
If it's the first case then simply make a copy of your main 'Data' folder and make sure there is a folder in main called 'Data' (the copy is to ensure you have a backup if you mess up so you don't have to reinstall). If you are using Steam then you should right click on the game in your library, go to properties, set launch options, and add 'swfoc MODPATH=Mods\AotR2.60' (without quotes) to the launch options. Then launch the game through Steam.
If it's the second problem you're having, AotR2.60 should create a mods folder if you don't already have one and then you should simply use the launch options I mentioned above. I am having a similar issue with the mod. See I want to use GameRanger to play online with a friend, but I can only start mods in that program if I overwrite the games main data folder, and for some reason this causes a crash with this particular mod (never encountered this before).

You should reinstall your game. In the future when you are going to install either this mod or RaW you should make a copy of your data folder and rename it to data_vanilla or something like that. Then install the mod you want and and rename that data folder to say data_RaW or data_AotR2.6 that way whenever you want to play one of these mods all you have to do is rename the different data folders back to just 'data' and then play from there. This will prevent you from overwriting the different AI files stored in each mod.

Hey Burntstrobe,
Do you know of a way to get multiplayer to work in EAW Gold Pack on steam? And if so is there a way to make it work with mods?

A buddy and I have tried to get it to work through Hamachi to no avail. (keep in mind this isn't the first game we've played a game using Hamachi) And I'm not stranger to setting up servers for games, but I just haven't seen any information about this game readily available.

Thanks!

Dumb question, but is the Imperious already in the mod? As well as other legacy ships? If so how could I get them?

Tis also my favorite! It's great to know other people out there like it! I'll be honest I at first wrote your mod off as just a small fanboy project but now that I've played it, it seems really well done! Though I seem to be having some issues with the Mon Calamari ships. Something about them seems to make my game crash (both in skirmish and GC) and its unpredictable (sometime it crashes when they render sometimes it crashes later).

At my engineering school we reconfigured and XBox 360 Kinect to act as our 3D scanner for all of our 3D printers. It works wonders! We can make little action figures of ourselves haha!

BTW that is an amazing model and skin! on a side note is anyone disappointed with how Star Wars Rebels decided to make their Star Destroyers have the tall derpy bridge tower? I like it much better in TCW where everything was fairly movie like/more realistic.

Hey so me and a bud are trying to set up a game online, and with past versions we had no problems. But we got on and installed this new version (I from a clean install) and in game it tells us that were running incompatible game states or that its a map that the other doesn't have. So basically we can't play and as far as I know we have the same game versions. Any help would be awesome!

So if I way an engineer, which I actually am in the midst of becoming, I would put my shield generator safe inside the ships hull. The emitters would have to be on the outside of course. I like G's way of doing it and the original way. It gives the game a little tactical input rather than just flinging ships at each other.

The two tracked tanks look as if they're based off of the German E-50 chassis, which was a standardized version of the German Panther tank during WWII that never saw production. I absolutely love the designs!

I just wanted to say that this mod is wonderfully done! My only complaint is whenever I'm dueling a bot and we go into a saber lock it seems like they win right then and there no matter what I do. I'm playing with realistic sabers and literally as soon as we lock I might as well sign my own death. Am I doing something wrong or is the AI just super good at those?

Do you have permission to use these models and skins? Because I know exactly where you got them from, and last I checked ported materials arent allowed on ModDB anyways.

Does this mod require both JKO and JKA? or does it work with the games separately?
