it's was always, in vanilla and in SRP (all versions). Image enlarged, from start game to it end. All Stalker games have this issue, but some other fix-mods for SoC and CoP manage to fix it. I think its happening on all 16:9 monitors.

Hello Decane, will it be possible to fix streched icons of artifacts/items/ammo on 16:9 monitors? I mean whey they on the ground and you point a crosshair on them (they are very big on 1920x1080 resolution)

okay, as I say earlier EvilGenius and me was writing posts about non sense in mission and as example we discuss Bandits and Monolith.

First of all simple LORE from STALKER (yes Lost Alpha is STALKER):

Monolith guys are fanatics. Monolith guys when are controlling by Monolith stone itself ALWAYS will kill everything that not Monolith guys (because in fact they are like zombies, people controlled by Monolith).
And as you know when we shut down Monolith in control center, we can meet friendly Monolith guys in Call of Pripyat that can talk to you and don't shoot.

I write this only for reason to show non sense of "negotiating" with Monolith guys itself (in this mission and on mission with Monolith leader later)

Than to part of your answer:
I say that why we must be friendly to bandits, only to get this word from a man. Why we can't kill bandits and take their PDA or documents with "secret word" and go to Monolith and say this secret word (of course this make no sense because Monolith guys are zombies in fact, and they dont need any secret words to not kill you In the name of Monolith of course)

Part where you must be friendly to bandits to get information that always can be found on PDA or paper notes, part where you talk to zombies guys... this is no sense.

Military guys? As for military guys, you know even when you kill all Monolith guys and after you will exit lab and see 10-15 marks on map, you always will receive task: Escape.

You can run through the window, sit in car and go away or you can try to kill all soldiers.

THIS is what is freedom. Not scripted cage for player where you can't do a move without: "Oh nonono you can't do this"

I think that all, there a lot of examples like this. Lets stop discussing obvious things

Hello, we here talking about some freedom in quests, and ways how it can be implemented and you back it to: don't think about it, do as Devs say to you.

Freedom in quests is part of STALKER (You can speak or kill and take PDA, you can save quest related man from death or "surprise" take his PDA, you can give artifact to quest man or keep it).

I am not saying that all quests must have such things, but when there is no point in "been friendly" to bandits why than do a lot of work to implement such mechanic, and than spent time to fix mechanic that don't have logic.

Okay if this will work as additional way (kill or be friendly), but when you must stick to the "zero logic" plan because "there is no other way, I said" its stupid

As for undercover mission... Do you remember "same" mission in Shadow of Chernobyl??

1. There was no need in bandit jacket and being friendly
2. You can steal documents with 1-2 kills in total
3. And when you kill someone there was no "reload save and dont kill"

Do you know how engineers says?
They says: If something already work, DON'T touch it.

If you already touched that, please do a "perfect job" on this, if you can't do a "perfect job" please don't use duct tape on this and return to words that engineers always say:
"If something already work, DON'T touch it"

you have good point of view. There must be failsafe methods.

But, for example bandits and Borov:
1. You need to know password from bandits for Monolith.
2. Borov has a gun that needed for Nimble.

And what we must to do:
1. We need find bandit jacket, find drunk bandit, talk to Borov and etc. And all of this run from one place to another, all this dialogs that have no story sense, only for ONE word, that don't do much, because as you know ALL will be dead anyway.
2. To obtain Borov gun we need to kill Borov, and than all bandits will be hostile.

So, if I regular player (not man that only doing main quest line, because I want to finish game as fast as possible), I want to do all quests.

What I do: I must find jacket, I must find bandit that have 2-3 dialog lines, I must speak to Borov for documents, I must speak to another man, I must go to Monolith (who as you know are fanatics, and they guard Monolith by killing peoples) speak to another man... and all will be dead anyway. Than I must go to Nimble take quest for gun (if I did not have it already) return to Borov kill him, kill all bandits, take gun, return to Nimble.

I know its like "our quest line must be very long", but its artificial methods that only hold player for no reason.

In original Shadow of Chernobyl we always kill bandits, in LA we have same bandits but with trader "for limited time" because all will be dead anyway.

So, why we cant just kill all bandits to take from Borov corpse an PDA with "secret word" and go to Monolith without all this "zero logic" dialogs with bandit.

I have some other questions:

1. Why Monolith are friendly guys (as we know Monolith stalkers are controlled by Monolith, and Monolith kills everyone, and as you know only when Monolith was disabled we can have friendly Monolith guys), how it even possible that Monolith guys have their mind not controlled by Monolith itself.
2. Why you have so many "in-game cut scenes" with such bad animations, I know you only some guys that doing free product. But even Call of Pripyat from GSC have much less in game cut scenes with much less animations. If you want to do them, do them with quality, if you cant, change it to simple animations or just remove them. Because for example scenes with scientists, ghosts they are not needed. I remember when you visit labs in original STALKER, there always was a mystery, you don't know why and what was here, where monsters where made and etc. But now its like, okay i see, let me skip this scene, oh Bloodsuckers from people, okay now there is no mystery on this monster. And why is this needed?

And one final question. Is this a mod from guys that love STALKER not only for locations and graphics (I must say its perfect things in LA) but for quests, mysteries and LORE.

Is this a mod that not another thing with rating "6/10" with "my mod, my story, because I say so" but "We will stick to original STALKER as much as possible"

And as you know in Shadow of Chernobyl that already was released more than 10 years ago, there was ways to do quests without such failsafe methods. Lost Alpha must be successor of SoC not another "Narodnaya Solianka" with lets put in this game all ours crazy ideas with speaking monsters, cyborgs, skeletons, and Stones that can speak (thank you for cutting this crap out).

Lost Alpha good as good as Call of Chernobyl as sand box for now. Quest lines are very strange, scripted with not needed flash backs that literally tells nothing except "My team vision of big brain" and sort of "we want to make good animations, but we cant, so we will to this ugly stuff and leave it, because this is free modification, and we can do all what we want"

Thank you for good locations and graphics settings in LA.

1.4004 on russian forums was released by russian developers from Dezowave team purely for testing purposes. Patch was already updated several times when new bugs appears. So when testing will be done patch will be released here on ModDB.

i have GTX 660 and i have 50-60 fps in 1080p in DX9 and 30-40 in DX10. I see mostly Radeon have problems with fps.

that not fault of developer. If you read messages when you take quests, there was information from Sid that, you must go and SPEAK with Sin, dont shoot, just speak, and if you talk to them, they ask to bring flash drive from SID with info. and Sid reward you for saving Fox not for killing a bunch of story related NPC.
So this is fault of the players, who dont read quest text.

totally agree. So many people do like this: kill half of stalkers on maps because of loot, kill half of quest related NPC. And then complain on forums: why game so empty, i have no quests, quest doesn't start, why they shoot me.

i dont understand one thing. In previous patch they was enemy (red dots). Dev's sayed that players dont need to kill them, but players kill them, and than say: "why the f**k they shoot me in the mine.
Ok, devs in new patch make them neutral. But players kill them, and than sayed: "why the f**k i am dying in the mine.

Only one thing that will solve this problems: DONT KILL SIN NPC. (sorry for bad english)

for me AI in Stalker very dumb. And if you remember in original Stalker was this "travels". What i have from this travels?
On Cordon - Fox dead, Wolf dead (killed by anomaly), Petruha dead.
On Rostok (where is bar) - half of base dead, when Mercenary from other map appeared.
Half of quest givers on another maps died.

And what i have? Quests that i unable to complete.

extract to your desktop in folder (name folder Dx for example), than when it will extract content, open that folder and run setup
