If another modder wants to do that when the source code for D:SM is released, they're more than welcome to. That said, I already have a lot on my plate with this as-is, so I won't be adding more extra features, especially ones that don't align with the other Half Life 1 PC games

No new models are being made for the environments in Solo Mission, so unless it's a model from the OG game, all brushes!

Solo Mission's compatible with both Half-Life's HD model pack, and the original 1998 models, and you can toggle between them just as you can in the base game.

At the beginning of this project I considered adding smooth transitions, but eventually decided against it.

The purpose of Solo Mission is to allow people to experience Decay in the best way possible. But if I put a brand new map between every chapter, that would make a third of the entire mod fanfiction.

There seems to be an issue where, if you talk to the security guard in Domestic Violence, his sequence breaks and he no longer talks to Keller, softlocking the game. The issue was present in the 2008 port too, but considering you seem to be using the original PS2 maps, this is probably a bug caused by the different .dll than the map itself.

Maybe see if replacing his scripted_sequences with aiscripted_sequences could help? Those typically override other NPC behaviors

His PS2 eyes have been replaced with PC style eyes to better align with the aesthetic of the PC releases of Half-Life and it's expansions.

While an official port likely won't be made, the mod will be open-source, and as such, anyone is welcome to port if it they'd like to.

There won't be one, unfortunately. The current demo already showcases an entire third of the game, any more would be overkill IMO.

The main reason I don't think I'd go with something like that is because I'm pretty against the idea of locking anything about the mod itself behind a paywall.

I'm trying to keep the visuals consistent with the rest of the Half-Life anthology, so I'm sticking with PC-style chargers for the time being.

To answer your first question, I don't see the need to remake any of the other games, as they're all perfectly playable on PC as-is. The remastering of Decay is more of a side effect of the fact that all maps had to be remade to work in single player. I just thought, if I had to remake them all anyways, why not remake them to look better?

For questions two and three, the goal of this mod isn't to make alterations and fixes to the core game. Things will be in Solo Mission the same way they were in Half-Life 1.

Unfortunately, there's no more demos planned in the future, as demo 2 already lets you play the entire first third of the game.

Unfortunately, there's many reasons these things won't be implemented. For one, introducing the Displacer Cannon so early in the game would break a lot of balance, and the means of unlocking it are a huge break away from Half-Life's gameplay style. As far as Xen Attacks is concerned, it'll be available to play after beating the main campaign.
