We have a guide in our Discord with pictures if you want to look at that, but to set the SDK Base to upcoming you have to go to the properties for it on steam and look under Betas and set it to upcoming there.

It's just a default Half Life 2 song, I think it's called TV test or smth like that

Alright, so it's not a file path issue, hmm. If you join our discord I might be able to help you a bit easier since you can send images (I swear I'm not trying to plug the discord it will actually help lol)

When you open the watchingpaintdry folder, what files do you see?

Can you copy your file path for Watching Paint Dry files in sourcemods and paste it here? And make sure that Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer is downloaded

You actually don't have to own ANY of them, just the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer (which is free on steam)

what happens when you try to load it

Did you download version 1.0 or 2.0? "watchingpaintdry.bsp" is only in 1.0, in 2.0 the map is called "wpd_st.bsp"

You might have the addon in the wrong folder, or a folder too deep. The file structure should look like this:
sourcemods/watchingpaintdry/(game files, maps, media, materials, etc)
if it looks like /sourcemods/watchingpaintdry/watchingpaintdry, then that's probably your problem. If that's not it you can join our discord and we can try and help you there.
