Mainly what I'll need help with if I go back to the mod is scripting and implementing new buildings. I have some experience with scripting and can do a few basic scripts easily but more complex stuff I would need a more experienced modder to help me out. And implementing new buildings I have no skill or experience with at all. If you can do either of these things or know anyone who can, just let me know.

Sorry for the late response here. I'm glad you like the mod. I'm not sure about more generals. Like I said in the last comment, I'm not actively working on it now and don't have any plans to start on it soon unfortunately. If I start on it again it probably won't be until next year, but I will definitely be thinking about things like scripting and adding new characters. Thanks again for the positive comment.

I'm guessing it's something like the People of Rome mod for Rome II, where certain units draw from the population pool (for example, a unit of knights would take x number of population from the nobility).

Sorry about the inactivity these past few months. Wanna go ahead and let everyone know that I'm probably not going to continue working on Peaman's mod (it seems to have shifted to Mr Nygren anyway, though if he invites me to help I would certainly be open to it), and that it will be a while before I come back to update my own mod. I'd say that I won't never update it again, since I have a tendency to ignore something for a long time only to come back and get really into it again. So, maybe expect an update in a few months, if you're willing to wait that long. That said, I'll still be around checking this page every now and then, so if you have any other questions or need help with anything I'll try to answer as best as I can.

If that's what's happening, my guess is that a file is missing or that it got corrupted during the download. All I could suggest is that you redownload the mod and try it again. I know it's tedious, but that's what I would try.

This mod is meant to start at season 4-5, with Stannis in the North (more loyal to the books in that regard than to the show). The closest thing currently to an independent "Stark" faction are the Manderlys. It's unlikely I will implement the Starks as their own faction into this mod. It would only really work if I wrote in a script to replace the Stannis/Manderly faction with House Stark after their respective leaders died, but this would be incredibly complicated, and far beyond my own skills as a scripter. However, there are some mods out there that do start with a Stark faction led by Jon Snow, which is the closest that I'm aware of to the scenario you're describing. Again, though, I most likely will not create an independent Stark faction for this particular mod.

If you're having any trouble getting the Winds of Winter sub-submod to run, you know you can PM me and give me more specific details, right? You don't have to leave a negative review. The mod does work, it's just a matter of installing and running it properly.

Yes, mine will still follow the season 5 setting, at least at the start. I'm planning on eventually making it a combination of both, with the campaign starting around season 5 but then having the Targaryens spawn as an emergent faction to simulate season 7.

Update, everyone:

PeaMan has invited me to join the team for his new GOT mod, which will include several campaigns, one of them being the Winds of Winter. He has requested that I do the work for the Winds of Winter mod, so from now on, I will be focusing my efforts on that mod. I still hope to implement some of my ideas for the new update on this submod, and it uses a better map, so I'm expecting something pretty good. When the first release of the mod comes out, I'll start to post updates about my progress on creating the final product I want for the Winds of Winter campaign.

Not sure if you fixed the problem with the fatal error already, but if you haven't, try right-clicking on Medieval 2 in your Steam library, go to properties, then select "set launch options". If there's anything in the text line, delete it, then try to launch the game again.

If anyone is still having trouble with the "fatal" error message, I may have found a solution: right-click on Medieval 2 on Steam and click on "set launch options". If there is anything in that text line, delete it and try to launch the game again. This solution has worked for one person so far.

I would suggest re-downloading the mod and installing it again. A lot of the time files get corrupted or go missing during downloads. If that doesn't work, let me know and try to send me a screenshot of the error message via PM.

If it loads vanilla Medieval II you might have spelled the name of the campaign wrong (trust me, I have had many 'amricas' and 'teutonc' before. When the game doesn't recognize the name of a campaign it will just revert back to vanilla). As for the major error, I am not sure. I have heard other people say that they've had a similar error, either major or "fatal", but I have never had this error message myself. All I can think of is to re-download and install it again. It's always possible that a file might get corrupted or go missing during the download, and if the game is missing just one file it won't load up properly.

Hey, everyone. Going to start some work on the newest update for this mod today. I'll have a lot to do, so don't expect the update for a few months.

Could you be more specific? What exactly happens when you try to open the file?

The folder with kingdoms campaigns. You don't even need to have installed the original GOT enhanced mod to run this, they're completely separate files.

Did you download the file from this page? If you downloaded the file on here it shouldn't have started up the normal GOT submod.

Sorry for the late response. Are you downloading the old version or the new 1.3? In any case, my suggestion would be to just re-download the file and try again. If the problem arises when you click "extract" on WinRar, maybe try just dragging the zip file into your Medieval 2 'mods' folder. If none of that works, send me a PM with a screenshot of the error message itself. That might help me get to the root of the problem.

I'm assuming you mean it crashes right after you pick Bolton on the faction menu? If that's the case, did you do a custom battle before trying to launch it?

Unfortunately, I can't add more settlements myself since I don't know anything about mapping, and I probably won't be moving it to a different map any time soon.

Yes, in a few months I intend to start work on a brand new version of the mod, completely updated to include the Targaryens and maybe a few minor factions (like House Blackwood, House Tarly, maybe House Karstark).

Yeah, it's a bit annoying, but I don't know what causes it. Just make sure to launch a quick battle every time you start a new campaign or load one. You don't even have to fight the actual battle, you can just start and then immediately quit.

House Tarly might be interesting. I've considered adding the Blackwoods as another Riverlands faction, one that could either help the Freys or overthrow them. When it comes to having both Daenerys and Aegon in the same game, I'm not sure. As of right now, it's unclear whether Daenerys will ever invade Westeros in the books (though she probably will). I'll have to think about having both of them in one version. It would be an interesting situation.

Thanks for the support. Glad you like it. I'm actually planning to start working on a new version of the mod in the next few months (probably late November-early December). It'll have two versions, one with Aegon in the Stormlands and another which would act as the show version, where Daenerys invades Westeros as an emergent faction.

Not sure then. Never heard of anyone having this problem before. Is the end turn icon missing or messed up? Does your cursor just stop working when it goes over to that area?
