Thank you!

In a way, I'm super okay with it not being fully completed and released. I've gained so much experience and I'm sure anything we would do today would be waay better that we could have done before.

Also nowadays there's some resurgence of tactical coop games, which helps the industry. Still wish to see a baby of Max Payne and SWAT, but hopefully we would be able to do that in the future!

Well, isn't like we have nothing to show for it. There's actually a few finished missions and the like.

But also, the landscape of mods and development in general has changed. We could have released a first chapter, and could have used any of the many different ways to back a project (patreon, kickstarter, etc), but these tools weren't available for us at the time.

And also... it was a project we made in our spare time, with no resources, in our tiny garages. Not fair to compare it to AAA productions.

Wish everyone a happy new year!

If not mistaken, only a handful of maps are there for testing. 95% of the maps are custom made for the project.

Not all of these work. The ones that do are listed up above. They could work with some tweaks, but not sure if they are interesting enough.

Well, it depends. I really had a great time, to be honest. Is just the engine was too small to contain the project.

It would have been totally possible on Source's engine though, but it wasn't like that

Yes, releasing source code soon, and FGD, and other tools.

Half-Life's engine, while great for its time, might be a bit overrated. There's a lot of things you simply cannot do. A lot. And is basic stuff really. For example, want to make rain? Forget about it.

And that was my issue. I just wanted to add features the project needed.

Regardless, we managed to add a lot, so, in that sense, I'm super happy about it.

On new engines, that stuff is already in, so we would only focus on gameplay and story elements. Things I really enjoy doing!

Thanks for tracking this for so long mate!

About pre-alpha and upcoming versions, we probably won't mention again we are working on this, unless we are 100% sure the project will come out, and it would be on a late stage of the project.

I won't be making the same mistake again.

Just check Escape from Tarkov. It's done on Unity and a great example of what to aim for!

Yeah. Isn't that we couldn't finish it. Is just I spent a lot of time doing things I didn't enjoy. Wasn't fun to put back in features already added years ago. It would take years and lots of effort.

The good thing is that we got some sort of game out of it. We know what to do, gameplay, story, combat wise. For me, that's priceless!

Thanks for your support!

Posting unreleased versions next week. They need a bit of a clean up, as they might conflict with our 2018 version. Hopefully someone finds it interesting, as there are finished missions and proper gameplay elements never shown.

Project Borealis went Unreal route. We would pick Unity since I've got around 6 years of experience. Project Borealis programmers posted a breakdown of Half-Life style movement, which we might find useful.

Yeah, tell me about it. Yesterday I was a teenager editing skill.cfg values, fantasizing about programming and shadows. Almost 20 years later I could say I'm done with modding. Even though I made up my mind months ago, is still a weird feeling. This whole thing gave me a career though so I can't really complain. I'm overall very happy with the whole thing.
I still wish the project to see the light as I ever wanted and I'm incredibly excited to know is a real possibility.

Thank you for your kind words and for tracking this for so long!

Sorry for the lack of communication. Deeply deeply sorry.

This project is not cancelled by any means, is just we've been really busy trying to finish education/pay bills.

We are preparing a video about the past, the present and the future of ARRANGEMENT.

Again, sorry, thanks for everyone who's still checking this mod after all this years, it really means a lot.

If not mistaken, it uses the SDK 2.4, which needs the updated 2013 HL engine. It probably won't run on WON.

If everything goes as planned, you could play it in the future for free, on Steam

On the next update, I'm gonna address the minor bugs people experienced. First and foremost, the ones related to stability, then, gameplay fixes.
Also, RainbowOS is going to be added.
Also, the training, which is actually, the beggining of the mod.

Just uploaded the tech demo. Is not a flawless, perfect release and there might be bugs. Feel free to check it out and let us know what you found out!

A later patch will be released with your feedback and fixes.

Cool, thanks for trying it out. Just let us know if you experience any bugs!

We tried our best to make it run on common configurations (amd-intel-nvidia). There could be issues, hopefully not!

So since it won't be finished in three days, do you have an estimate of when instead?

Before xmas, for sure! A week before that, for contingency actually.

Now that the lighting is fixed things will go much much faster.

We will have a hub map were you can access others. Here's how it looks so far!

Puu.sh

Everything is now tied together, need to finish the hub and polish a few minor things.

Sadly, the build won't be finished in 3 days (the upload it self will probably take a day!)

We are not running for MOTY this time, feel free to send your vote to your fav mod instead!

More news about the build soon!
