love the exhaust trail, looks great
Thanks man! and I might be interested, I'm not much of an artist. Can you shoot me an email at matt.e.greer@gmail.com? Do you have any examples of your work? It's a small game, an experienced pixel artist should have no problem banging out the assets quickly.
Hi anagromataf, What version of Linux are you using? You will need to get libgtk2.0-cil. if you are using Ubuntu, the 'sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-cil' should do the trick. Unfortunately there is no way to specify this is needed through Desura.
As for the Wine issue, I thought that was fixed. I will have to look into that tonight.
When I try to run this game from Desura on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, it just opens wizorb.sh in a text editor.
By adding #!/bin/sh to the top of wizorb.sh, it then launches correctly.
We will do this once the deb and the Desura versions are squared away. Shouldn't be too much longer.
Sorry, the MCF version has a bug in it that I need to resolve. For now, you should be able to use the standalone version. It also has a minor bug, so here is what you will need to do: "sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-cil", when that is done, then just double click the WyvAndKeep deb file and it should install and run. Sorry about this, like I said earlier the Linux version is a bit rough in places.
It should! The Linux version is not quite as done as the others, it still has a bit to go. But in general everything should work. If you try online and it fails, please report back and we will look into it.
Ok, cool, that means the deb is missing some dependencies. Thanks for the heads up!
hey hero1900, if you get a chance could you try installing the deb of Wyv and Keep instead of through Desura? It's in the standalones download section. I'm curious if that still causes you problems. Also, what is the output of "dpkg -l libgtk[0-9]* | grep ^i"? Thanks!
Yeah, we are happy to get the Linux version out. Keep in mind the Linux version is a bit more beta-y than the others, still some kinks in it we have to resolve. If you guys hit any problems, please let us know!
Ah, sorry about that. Can you tell me what version of Mono you have? "mono --version" will give you that.
Thanks! I've gotten a ton of feedback on the physics, and almost everyone has different opinions :) Without a doubt the physics as they stand now will change.
Hey thanks for the feedback! Sorry for the late reply, I just saw these comments.
Yeah the physics definitely need more work. If you play the game now I think they are improved over what they were when I made this first release. But still not quite there. I agree with how fun the long jumps are, which kind of got nerfed recently :-/ Hard to strike that balance.
It's still up at: Cityfortyone-mattgreer.dotcloud.com
Thanks for checking it out. I think what I'm ultimately going to do is the score for the level is <amount of treasure gathered> / <how much time the level took>. So dying is a time penalty, and you can die as many times as needed.
