Yes, the standard version requires a 1280x720 monitor, unfortunately! If you have any other problems, please ask!

that's the reason, then. The game requires a minimum resolution of 1280x720 to be played in full screen. I'm sorry for this, but due to our engine limitation we choose to pick the widescreen resolution as basis.

the problem is through the Desura client you're able to install just the HD version that doesn't work if you don't have a 1920x1080 monitor. We're investigating the problem.
