I remember seeing this game in it's early development phase. Since then it's grown quite a bit. Glad to see you guys are putting effort into the game.

It is possible, but not convenient. To test the game while running the server, you need 2 clients running. One for the server and one for testing the game. You may want to lower the volume and music in the settings before hosting the server. You can then join your own server.
I've yet to make an update that will resolve this so that players can play on their own servers without having 2 clients running.
