Warband - Modular Armours Project Part 2

BloodRedSandMan Blog

I've been playing so much Bannerlord I put this on the backburner for a while, however,

Here is the male variant armour;

As with the female armour all the parts are separated and can be completely mix matched. The second photo shows a different BASE skin, the naked models that are stock with MB.

Ideally, the base model or body would be re-skinned to complement the armour stacked on top of it while each armour piece could use a separate texture as well for even more variety. Texturing is not something I am going to spend much time on as the purpose of this project is only to add mesh geometry for modders to use.

So far the model mesh is skinned very well with the skeleton and mesh distortion is extremely minimal.

I am possibly going to add more mesh geometry pieces to the set at a latter date, but for now I just need to do the Lods.

Warband - Modular Armours Project

Hello ModDB

I've been playing around with making some Custom modular armours for Mount and Blade:Warband.

I intend these for use by people who have experience modding and re-texturing so my own textures are fairly simple, focusing instead on clean animations and versatility.

To that end made my first attempt which I feel was overly ambitious for someone unfamiliar with modding in Warband. Having done C# codding and some animation for custom game projects in Unity I would normally parent armour to bones... but M&B uses envelopes... like I said, I was too green to get it right first time.

Since then I've been working on armour sets that use the M&B stock 'Naked' Mesh for male and female characters and building my armour around those, trying to keep the structure in line with the stock M&B skinning.

Since then I've come up with this completely modular armour that can survive mesh distortions;

Female Fantasy Armor

As you can see from the screen shots, this is a versatile asset that can use any combination of pieces that can be re-textured individually to create a significant number of custom looks for M&B warband.

While I am yet to finalise a release of this model (I still need to add Lods, and a Male Version) my texturing skills are passable but sadly very beginner. If there are any texture artists out there that would like to show off what they can do with these models I'm open to collaboration.

The external armour pieces can very effectively use transparency as the female mesh under remains complete and fully textured. The full Armour so far (top photo) is only 1782 faces.Female Fantasy Armor 03
