Blak-Dragon @ Weapons Mod 4.01 (Dosbox only, OBSOLETE)

Could both revolvers have an optional setup to replace the flaregun as well? As their overall firepower feels weak in the machine gun slot. Also the pump shotgun is missing it's ejecting shell sprite after it fires.

Blak-Dragon @ Weapons Mod 3.5 (BloodGDX, NBlood, Fresh Supply Compatible)

This mod seems to only work on the Steam version, apparently after several attempts with the GOG version of One Unit of Blood the following the install setup and running the the bat file. It doesn't install any of the weapons.

[TEMPORARY BACKPACK REPAIR FIX]

A few people asked me for the file to fix this but figured it's easier to just explain what I did so you folks can also make use of this so as to avoid having to throw away expensive and potentially repairable backpack types like the Oxygen tank and other ones.

You need simply need either Notepad or Notepad++ to open up the script file.

1. In the Dead Air folder go to your gamedata\scripts\ and open "ui_itm_repair.script"

2. At the very top it should show a text line called "local extra_repair" and showing the backpack item assets assigned to what you can repair using outfit repair items. (Apparently the new backpacks were never updated to this section, which was why you couldn't fix them in-game.)

3. Copy this section and paste it over the "local extra_repair" in the script make sure to include the brackets.

local extra_repair = {
["backpack_light"] = true,
["backpack_heavy"] = true,
["backpack_merc"] = true,
["backpack_travel"] = true,
["kit_hunt"] = true,
["airtank"] = true,
["ccrm"] = true,
["ccrm_merc"] = true,
["ccrm_dolg"] = true,
["exobackpack"] = true,
}

4. Save the script file and then start up Dead Air, if you did it correctly when you select a outfit repair item like glue or sewing kit, one of the addon's backpacks should now show up available for repair.

Fair warning though, The Airtank and CCRM's tend to be expensive to maintain as they constantly degrade slowly in the the toxic/hazardous areas they are intended for. So make sure to carry some additional repair items to patch them up less they become more costly to repair after returning to base.

At this time I do not know how to adapt these so that mechanics can perform repairs on these. I'm not exactly experienced with script and code. However wanted to find out how to make them potentially have upgrades that could reduce weight or improve certain stats (More reasons to make and spend money), as I figured they're just as equally a utility as headgear.

Is the Bandit Medic at Garbage intended to only accept crow beaks for trading his med supplies ?

Blak-Dragon @ Stalker No Swiping

Not entirely sure if this cause of the addon, but I've had to no luck finding toolkits needed for mechanics. Before I'd find some in unlooted stashes (without "better loot" enabled) and also stalkers holding onto one, even Wolf when I began a fresh game had expert toolkit on him.

Far as I know Basic tools can be found in the wood and cardboard boxes you can smash open but I don't know about the advanced and expert.

There is something odd with using the trader discount tweak, as I sold a Merc ccm backpack I found in a stash and it sold for 900,000+ RU

[POTENTIAL BACKPACK REPAIR FIX]

Was the issue with being unable to repair the new backpacks due to that they were not added in the "ui_itm_repair" area in gamedata/script under "local extra_repair" ?

CONFIRMED. Updated ui_item_repair with the new backpacks including the oxygen tank and they now show up when I use a outfit repair item.

Not sure if it makes them repairable by mechanics.

R3la I can send you the script file to test and confirm if this fix works.

Regarding the suggestion with food and drinks tweak, as an alternative could healthier drinks such as purified and mineral water remove certain amount of rads after drinking ? Rather than a continuous effect like Vodka and Alcohol, instead give them a negative "eat_radiation" factor that would remove a small amount of rads instantly from the player upon drinking ?

Figured it would be helpful for those not wanting to waste a Vodka bottle for a minor 1-25 rad count while around base or camp. And make those drink types more useful.

Some of the individual tweaks are, but most likely the changes to the carry weight and stamina conflict with the adjustments made from the DAOO

Blak-Dragon @ Dead Air Outfit Overhaul - DAOO v1.1 EXTENDED

Could there be a alternative version in the future update that allows all upgrades to be made on a Outfit / Headgear ?

The balance to this could be making the cost slightly more expensive in this version to afford the upgrades but allow a player to make the most of a outfit's use before changing up to a better variant and extend gameplay finding cash to afford all options.

In addition, potentially could backpacks have upgrade options to upgrade weight, energy or carry capacity to balance out different variations ?

Also could there possibly be a advanced backpack version of the hunter's kit ?

Blak-Dragon @ Dead Air: Easier Tweaks (0.98b)

Another set of suggestions could be another optional change of easier repairs giving the Main and Mid-Tier Repair kits 2 charge uses rather than one. To allow fixing of multiple weapon malfunctions, as it seems odd that you'd use up an entire toolbox contents on replacing a barrel for a gun. Alternatively instead increase the repair amount in combination with other repair items to counter the repair reduction when fixing a malfunction.

Another would be a option of setting the restock rate of traders. So the player can choose from anything earlier than waiting 5 days for new restock of gear to buy from.

With the your Skills and Perks tweak could you tweak the inventor perk so that the player with expert tools could allow building of a basic tool set so that you can provide those to the local mechanics for the 1st tier of upgrades ? As it seems the expert tools has a very limited set of construction choices even with the inventor perk.

Another tweak could be updating certain healthier drinks remove a minor amount of radiation and making the "The Beak" drink last a little longer than a minute.

Yeah, basically cause certain weapon conditions he won't accept which could be tweaked so that you can 'recycle' weapons to him from 0-45% condition to trade parts to repair better salvaged weapons. Maybe to some extent he could trade the 1st tier of weapon kits just so you have another source of those starting out in cordon which can craft with basic tools the heavier and medium weapon repair kits as most weapons you scavenge have multiple malfunctions and the heavy types only have one charge use. Which will be balanced since you need a few broken weapons each time to get them off nimble.

Not sure if this is asked before but when performing certain repairs on weapon it displays the malfunctions, but displays a number value next to the malfunction part on the right. What is the that used for ?

Could there be a additional variant with larger light indicators for the 16:9 ?

Sometimes it's the weather or the environment but it's hard to see when a protection or item is still in effect. But all in all it's great way to keep things minimal but efficient on display.

Not sure if anyone has suggested it yet, but perhaps adding a tweak that allows certain low grade scrap parts Nimble can trade you in exchange for damaged weapons aside of gas and fuel ?

Blak-Dragon @ Dead Air: How To Install

I liked the original visual from version 98a. with it's bright sunny look, but what do I need to set with the new sliders to match it in version 98b ? Regarding version of DirectX, I suppose version 9 R2.5 is still the safest to use ?

Also is there a way to re-enable randomized loot in boxes and wood crates ? As I found it more interesting rather than standard pre placed loot.

Blak-Dragon @ The Big Bad Boss addon-pack [CoC 1.5]

Aside of the mentioned above issue, This batch of addons is fairly stable and does improve over the default CoC in terms of weapons and items. I'm rating this addon modpack an 8.

Worth getting for those who want a improved version of CoC 1.5 without completely overhauling everything.

Found a solution to this. For those who have Paint.Net you can use Artefact Expansion Patch's DDS file and copy over the missing Artifact icons into the ui_icon_equipment.dds for this mod's DDS file.

Trying this out and so far It's pretty fun. Only issue is that some of the Artifact UI icons are not showing in the inventory, however the UI Description still works for them when I move over where they would be displayed.

Update. It seems the "ui_icon_equipment.dds" file in /gamedata/textures/ui needs to be fixed for it to be displayed. I confirmed when I used a Artefact Expansion Patch on and the icons displayed properly again, however it messed up the other addon inventory.

Thanks GrOrc, now that I see the difference, I'll keep my infantry & tanks alive now. Also was there or will there be plans to add a fire-rate/attack speed buff as well or any additional buff properties ?

Great mod all together, I will consider donating to this fine piece of fun.

I just wish the cooking system wasn't so tedious when you're cooking meat in large amounts. Will it be optimized later so you can cook multiple quantities rather than single batches ? Only time I tend to actually use it to make large amounts is while waiting for emissions to pass while in a base.

Also any chance for more possible items and equipment addons in the near future, basically higher tier (military/sci) type addons for better suit protection ?

You know N.Aaroe, looking at your new icon, makes me think next time you do a new art piece to post in images, should feature a decaying husk of a lone dead stalker laying on the ground with his arm raised in the air with a artifact still clutched in his hand, still pulsing with lively energy, unlike the former individual that found it.

Thanks, I had experienced fps difficulty when I launched the mod, but after deleting a few of the graphic configurations in the auto-exec.cfg the game ran a smooth 50-60 fps while still keeping the visuals all maxed.

Also will you later include the high poly models from Doom 3 HD to Perfect Doom if they allow permission ?
