Perfect Dark was the best FPS and game you could get for the N64 (aside from Goldeneye, an other great older FPS also made by Rare). Perfect Dark also took the ideas from Goldeneye (Dual Weapons and agents :P) and putting a futuristic story on it.

Worth getting to see its full glory if you can spare 10$ to whatever a store sells old 64 games. I got it for my friend on E-Bay then he sold it to me for 5 $ so now its mine LOL!

Ya if you had trouble making the laptop gun work right it must be hell trying to make the remote mines stick lol :P

In a interveiw with Gabe he even said that they used the quake engine first to develope Half-Life (it was on TV)...so of course there are remainders of the engine.

Actuly Microsoft bought Rare for a pretty hefty sum of cash...

First, delete the 0.1 installation. Second, install the alpha provided below the 0.1 version on the website. Then reinstall the 0.1 release. Then it all should work.

PS: The Laptop gun sentry scared the crap out of me. Make it smaller please and more based on the laptop gun model :D:D:D

The "fix" is out. Just go on over to their website and reinstall the alpha version provided and then install 0.1. I say "fix" because the "fix" provided was concidered the new release. Come on...I wanted more PD ownage...o well :P. Its fun right now. Ownage witht the AR is good enough :D :D :D

What you can do is put ".bak" on the end of the client.dll and replace the hl.dll with the half-life one. DO NOT do this with out making copies of the original hl.dll. After this you get to see the levels and the rocket launcher, shotgun, and DY Magnum models nothing else. I would just wait till Sep 5 since that is (hopefully) the release of the next update :P but I got bored.

Are you going to make remote mine that stick to people because that was one of the greatest things in the game. It was like the GoldenEye remote mines but futuristic. You could wait around a corner and stick one to someones head...even stacking them! Then waiting a while blowing them up with the detnator. I used to line the hallways with mines...good times...good times :D

Changing the client.dll to client.dll.bak works to get the program up and running. I however have found that when you try to run a game it fails the first time (giving you this error in console:

"LoadLibrary failed on c:\Valve\Steam\steamapps\-------\half-life\pd\dlls\hl.dll (126)
Host_Error: Couldn't get DLL API from c:\Valve\Steam\steamapps\-------\half-life\pd\dlls\hl.dll!")

Then trying to start game again, it shuts off completely. Please get the patch out, or I'll just wait till the next release Sep. 5.
