Interesting. It might be because I gave them mostly new-world units. I was able to recruit infantry in North Africa interestingly. I'll check it out.

You're welcome! I noticed the swordsmen pirate units are actually pretty OP if supported by muskets. Excellent flankers.

I'll look into it. If I find how to fix it, I'll update file.

Thanks,

No. I've tried finding where this mechanic is on the files, but to little avail. The AI factions will eventually start offering you peace as you get stronger however.

Is this feature still in newest release? I cannot find the barracks in cities anywhere - did you mean taverns?

Awesome work by the way! Tanks or no tanks, still very well-made. I hope you are encouraged to continue development :)

I think y'all need to be happy with whatever you get - do you have the ability to create something like this yourself? And it's a free mod - srsly.

This looks like the epitome of sheer awesomeness. Will probably lose my life playing this when it comes out. Worth it lol.

Very incomplete, cavalry very overpowered, and most names and settlements are either from vanilla game or Calradia. Many characters and units from other games still. Greek basic "z..something" swords appear invisible in battlefield.

Also, map only includes the gauls, romans & Greece.

Work to still be done, but has lots of potential!

No, but you can take over Gondor :)

Appreciate the info and am glad you enjoyed it (albeit not perfectly).

I've been working on a new release which fixes and improves many things including the Arnor faction by decreasing start-off army size and revenue. I had those buffed since you started off with essentially 0 dunedain culture, but that has been fixed for next release, just like everything else has/will be :)

Next release is aimed at hammering up the rebel faction as a fun campaign player. Any quirks with them are being corrected. The Dark Lord of Mordor faction was left playable when I was experimenting with their gameplay, and I saw no reason to remove them since other players might have the same idea.

As for the Byzantine banners displayed in empty Arnor settlements, I don't see how that's an issue. It's not a good idea to leave any settlement empty anyway ;)

Click "Files" tab on this webpage. Select 1.3 version to open the download page. Click "Read More" @ description.

Download 1.3 to your desktop (for simplicity's sake).

After downloading to desktop, double-click to open the mod zip file.

It will show a folder inside that says "ARNOR REFORGED v 1.3" or just "ARNOR REFORGED.

Double-click that. You should see just one folder that says "data". click nothing else there.

Open your m2tw game files, either by opening Steam & right-clicking game, properties, local files, "browse local files" button, OR navigating through your computer folders.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods" (if you used disc, it should say "SEGA" in lieu of "Steam\steamapps")

Open your "mods" folder within your game files, then you should see your "Third_Age_3" folder (or whatever you may have renamed it). Stop here.

Drag your mod "data" folder, from the zip folder, to go inside the "Third_Age_3" folder. Click "Yes" to replace existing files.

Do the same thing for patch.

Enjoy, let me know if this helps!

You have to wait till dunedain culture hits 25% for archers & cavalry, 33% for militia infantry, 50% (I think) for almost all units, 60% for elite units, and 66% for pikemen (lastly).

Around Turn #20 is when you have enough culture (if you built libraries first).

You should be able to hire Arnor Swordsmen mercenaries in the mean-time. What you start out with should allow you to wreck Eriador. Their units are weak compared to Arnor.

I will upload an installation video just to make 100% sure everyone is installing it correctly.

From what I hear it sounds like you may have to re- start from the very beginning because something must have gone out of wack. Installing and re- installing, missing the slightest thing can ruin the gaming experience.

It sounds like either this was a problem with the Vanilla TATW installation or a file wasn't put in the right place the first time and is now messing with everything. That's all it takes unfortunately!

The safest option (and I know it sucks) is to uninstall TATW completely and re- download everything.

If you want to avoid that and go over it in detail, please inbox me.

I want you to enjoy it!

Hey man,
I tested my mod last night and I was able to construct those.

Just re-download submod and double- click "arnor reforged" in zip folder and drag the "data" folder to your existing files. It should be dragged over to your existing game files window where it also shows "data" folder (Do NOT drag it to go INSIDE your existing "data" folder)

After that, try again!

HEY ALL,

If you downloaded v. 1.3 before 5/24/2019 and you want your campaign menu maps to show territories for Arnor & Eriador factions, RE-DOWNLOAD mod and move "map_byzantium.tga" and "map_turks.tga" to "Third_Age_3\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign from newly re-downloaded mod to your existing submod.

I forgot to add in the map previews in campaign menu for Arnor & Eriador factions. It's not a big deal it's just for looks.

Apologies for any inconvenience!

That's weird. I am able to build them.

I'm re-downloading the vanilla TATW. I'll add my submod to it and see if I get the same problem.

If I don't, I'd suggest just re-downloading submod and manually dragging files where they should go.

You can build libraries, which are the cultural buidings for the Dunedain in this submod. I was only saying that the Dunedain culture percentage starts out at like 5%, so you'll have to build them first.

Or did you mean you downloaded the submod and it's not letting you build libraries?

HEY ALL,

I am still relatively new to the whole mod-making hobby, and in my mind a "patch" was another word for a "submod".

That is totally wrong! These downloads should be listed as "full versions".

Apologies for any confusion!!! D:

You need to build libraries first. And a school in Annuminas. Once you hit 33% dunedain culture you can start recruiting. The soldiers you have in the beginning should hold you till then.

I recommend not starting any wars with any factions (aside from rebels) until you can start recruiting. Orcs of Gundabad & Free people's units however are inferior to Arnor's however.

I tried making those settlements start out with more dunedain culture but the game didn't "digest my changes".

I'm coming out soon with a new version that allows more mercenaries including Arnorian swordsmen to help, as well as an additional family member with an army.
