I don't want to say that:
you have taken the design of the scales armor for moria, while edain mod already uses this one with ered mithrin... They use it under the armor but it is the same thing, armor in scales for the dwarves was very interesting, and if you had decided to develop it for ered mithrin what would have made it more interesting, but also logical.

It is simple, the question it is not to know if it makes sense or not for moria, but to put moria and mithrin beside it and asking yourself "for which it would be more logical to find armor in scales?" If think your team chose to illuminate the eyes of the watchers giving beautiful models without really search the best way for them.

As you can see, a cataphract own a ligh armor.
After all this is your mod, you post pictures of your work to allow the community to comments them.
I just say than for me this model is not good, it does not correspond to moria by the wy of the choice between moria and ered mithrin.
This model is opposed to the design of edain mod and I disagree with.

Yes and the dwarves armor are supposed to be heavy.
This is why I found the first version more appropriate, she looks heavy for dwarven faction but suitable for walking :D :D

For me this unit Moddb.com own all the characteristics of a Ered Mithrin unit, I think it look a real dragon killer. It would be perfect for ered mithrin.

They look more Ered Mithrin that moria for me.
The armor seems to be of scales, and I would prefer see that sort of armors for your future Ered Mithrin Dwarves like for your ered mithrin king (I think the scales remind dragon).

I preferred the old version, their big steel plates gave them a heavy look, but less heavy that the other dwarven kingdoms, more adapted to moria I think.
But, this is my personnal opinion, I think the old armor should be good if you make them less clean.

This will be great to see a patch like that for other mod like edain, I think this should be a cool submod. But no really to replace the edain models but to improve them a little keeping the same appearence spirit.
