Bro, if you could port over the levels and other assets it would make my day! I am hoping somebody at least reverse engineers and decompiles the original Xbox version since it is literally the best version to port since it is already X86 architecture it would port to PC much easier. and then we can use the weapon models, HD textures and soldier models from the 360 version and then we will be good to go! There is already an HD pack for the PS2 version you can run on emulators and it would be easy to make that work.

But if you can recreate COD 3 in WAW by porting the maps and other stuff we could recreate the missions and stuff with scripting.

We have a few destructible buildings in Battleground 44, most notably on the Soviet maps and some in Western Front. Try on Kharkiv and Mekinziev Gory you can blow up many houses. We also have 3D explosive decals that create craters which are really cool.

They do a little with ideas and tech such as helping out with sharing the Lee Enfield rifle but they helped greatly with the latest shaders which are freaking amazing, but not so much with other content. If I recall correctly the Enfield was a content trade agreement early on in development. My mod Battleground 44 actually has shared quite a bit of content with PR:WW2 such as with US vehicles and sharing some content we ported over from Battlegroup42 so we do help when and where we can.

We do have impact craters that are fully 3D from explosions and some of our buildings on eastern front maps can be destroyed such as the houses, also on western front maps the church steeple can be destroyed.

This mod is fully standalone and does not require a copy of BF2 in order to play. So it does not get installed in the same way as other mods. It needs to be at root of C drive in order to play. When Dnamro is finished working on our launcher/installer it will be able to be installed to any drive or location you choose.

That shortcut is still the method to launch the game. You just need to make sure game is installed to root of C drive as it is hard coded to run from this location only until we can get our installer/launcher completed sometime in the future.

I do not know how to spell this out any clearer. The only way you should launch the game is battleground44.exe and it has to be installed at the root of c drive since the mod is a standalone game now it is hard coded to that location in order to be standalone and reach the widest audience possible.

Windowed mode is debug mode for us. It is how we get the game to display ay error codes.

The mod is made for super HD lowering textures gives that error unfortunately.

Excited to see how much further this can push the old Battlefield 2 Refractor 2 engine as far as lighting and memory allocation goes where we can run very HD assets with little impact to game performance. The fact it will allow games to use over 4gb memory is a game changer.

Also, I hope this makes reshade obsolete. Nothing worse than having pretty shaders that overlay a full game rendering the menus blurry. This natively modding the games in real time should mean far better graphical enhancements.

You must install the mod to a specific location as this is a fully standalone game mod now. So you need to install it to root of C drive, no other locations will work. The Battleground44.exe should launch the game,not the Battlefield2.exe or anything else.But the one located at "C:\Battleground44\Battlefield 2\mods\Battleground44"...

You must also make sure to install the shader cache fix as well which instructions for this can be found inside of the folder at this location. "C:\Battleground44\Battlefield 2\mods\Battleground44\!IMPORTANT SHADERS FIX! Read!"... Inside of this folder you will find detailed instructions on how to make the game run above single digits.

I will be using this for my Korean War mod, so thanks a lot!

Those in the monster paint were used over there extensively and they were painted to scare the traditionally superstitious Chinese soldiers.

Will replace those FH2 sights on it though to look more like the ones we use in our mod like Battleground 44 and BFKorea ones.

I think more people would say it is broke if not working. I can not babysit and show people how to launch the game. I made installation process easier, as well as specifically wrote long detailed instructions. You people have to start the game from Battleground44.exr. Not Battlefied 2 folder. You HAVE to install the game at root of C drive as it is hardcoded for that location. You also have to install the shader cache or you will get single digit frame rate. I can not believe people can not figure this out when I made detailed and clear instructions.

Please give more info than "Does not work". Seriously come on guys, this is not difficult. People leaving 1 star ratings as well with the same kind of message is not helpful either. If you want to see this game live up to the full potential we need folks to start following instructions better and give more detailed error reports than saying not working. We have a debug mode batch file in the mod to make it easier to error report so people can take screen shots to show errors. It is very simple to help us help you. You just need to meet us half way. Common sense. So in order to get to that point you need to provide additional info because I literally can not help you otherwise.

We are sorry there is a bit more complexity to installing this total conversion mod than most BF2 mods, it is standalone and nearly 18gb large with over 110 fully singleplayer supported maps, and tons of equipment vehicles and factions. It is just the nature of the game. It is such a large content rich mod that the process for installing and running it is messing up people. If 1 step is not followed to the "t" then the mod will not run. It has to be installed where instructions say, and has to be launched with Battleground44.exe located in "C:\Battleground44\Battlefield 2\mods\Battleground44' Again failure to manually fix shader cache install will have detrimental impact on game performance. So not following exact directions for installation will have issues.

Dnamro has been hard at work on a brand new downloader/installer/launcher that should greatly foolproof and streamline the process for newcomers to this mod.

Therein lies the problem. AI. BF2 AI has never been the best. The bots difficulty is already set down to 0.8 difficulty or skill setting. We made vegetation and smoke grenades impenetrable by bots. Or at least in the case of vegetation they can not shoot through it to hit you. So we took care of that at least. Like said we use similar values with tank turret movement, so they should be similar. They do have momentum when turning the turret, which was also the case in FH2. In fact we looked over their values and tried to implement similarly, so maybe something on that particular version o sherman got overlooked? But they all carry momentum when moving turrets. But I have no issues moving them so sounds like some other issue.

My good friend Dnamro is working on tools to make the AI better in the game, but he is also working on actual tools to help convert maps from BF1942 to convert statics and gameplay objects easily into bf2 engine, so in the future we will ave far more converted and remastered maps, official BF1942 and expansions, yet also amazing community made maps and freely available maps anybody can find. So we have quite a bit planned to continually improve the game. Weapons can still be adjusted but for the most part sounds and accuracy and damage were given lots of consideration. We wanted a semi-realistic gunplay, but still faster paced. I can not stand bullet sponges and bolt action rifles should always be deadly in games. Right now it can take 2 shots to kill if you kit in the extremities, or 1 hit kill if head shot or in torso.

That is funny you say this because we literally use the same method and type of settings for tank turret moving like FH2 does so I don't see the problem you are talking about. The values for each tank type are similar to somewhat replicate how tanks from that time were more sluggish and heavy machines.

Also, it used to be as you said with handheld weapons, but people complained and wanted more damage from them. STG44 bullet spread was fixed in this latest release, before it was nearly impossible to get a good shot with it. Now it is much more accurate.

I just hate Vanilla style bullet spread and we try to make them all feel good to use. People for the most part have only had positive things to say about the handheld weapons so it is strange to see people not liking them as we are often praised for the gunplay We used a lot of community feedback to achieve the state it is in now.

Also yes the planes a lot of them were heavily W.I.P. so they were still not in a complete state. I have wanted the Spitfire to get overhauled like our Mustang got all new HD interior, but I think we might get all new Spitfire model and start over from scratch.

Did you download and install part 2 Objects folder correctly? Sounds like maybe not. Another person had same problem and they didn't extract the full "objects" folder to the location where the Battlegroup44.exe is located.

Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima and Hukawng Valley were fixed and now working. I have no problems there. The mod can just randomly crash at times due to various reasons. Dnamro is going to look into trying to re-navmesh certain maps, and try and fix any issues with AI as there are some places in the mod that could use improvement.

Well if you don't run the game from the battleground44.exe it could be an issue like that. Never try and run the game from Battlefield2.exe, it will not run because it lacks all the stuff to start up as BF2. We stripped out everything not needed o run this mod as a standalone game. So no need to use all the content from the base game. We use under 1gb of files from the vanilla game so it is the absolute bare minimum to run. Just like how Project Reality mod does it to be a standalone game in BF2 engine. So if that is how you are trying to launch it, it could be why.

Yeah so you can 1 shot kill with bolt action or larger caliber weapons with a well placed shot in upper torso or headshot. So much quicker TTK, plus the weapons are much more accurate than vanilla BF2, which is one of the worst things about the vanilla game is the bullet deviation. Weapon balance is much more like a retail Battlefield experience, or actually I think ours is even possibly the most balanced as we do give extremely balanced weapon load outs which you will notice the more maps you play.
