I imagine that when pirates or worse threats arrive they will try to reach core sectors of the station like the reactor shown here

these will either be used fo healing or creating new colonist, whatever their funtions is, this seems late game tech, I'm surprised by the amount of detail this has I can tell you put a lot of work in just making it look that it makes sense inside this universe
