Oh, trust me, I know. I use a pointlight-only version of the torches in bigger areas. I try to be sparing on particles, decals, and spotlights, but I'll use them when I think they'll work well for an area.

Thanks! I wanted to make a custom story that feels a bit like the main game, but with a lot more details in the level design. The soundtrack will also be fully produced by me and I'm trying my best to make it sound like The Dark Descent's music and a little like Dark Souls' soundtrack. Putting level design and music aside, my goal is also to make a very unsettling gameplay experience.

It's currently not being worked on. I'd like to finish Metus Chapter 1 before doing this project. I do intend on remastering this eventually, just give it time.

Well, if you've already played the demo (Metus), then you'll just have to wait for the full mod. I understand your frustration. Many 'TBD' mods, little downloads. These days, the Amnesia modding community takes more time perfecting their work, hints to why there are so many 'TBD' mods.

I should mention, if you don't play this mod with surround sound headphones, you won't enjoy it anywhere near as much. The sound design I've done for this mod is a big part of it. A lot of effort is making the player feel like they're actually there and making them paranoid.

The goal isn't to make the best story in all Amnesia mods, or the best-looking levels. The goal is to make the most creepy, paranoia-inducing and frightening Amnesia mod to date. I don't know if Linked Realities will achieve that goal, but there are more Nails subtitles to come in the future. Being someone who suffers from Schizoaffective disorder, I'm also trying to replicate some of the very real paranoia I experience in my life. I don't usually hallucinate, but I have heard whispers and other things before, so you will also hear things in the mod that you won't be able to tell was your head playing tricks on you or the game.

This is a screenshot from the upcoming playable trailer for Nails titled 'Nails: Liminal Spaces.' This P.T. for Nails will utilize the dread and lingering tension that the trend of 'Liminal Spaces' can induce.

For those who are mad at me for removing the mod. People thought the intentionally cheesy, satirical, and parody-filled writing was just really bad writing. Though, the writing wasn't good anyway IMO. The voice acting is also objectively bad and all the main characters are voiced by me. I'm glad to see some people enjoyed it enough to resurrect it. I might channel my current "negative energy" and make some truly dark and even depressing levels to really contrast with the cheesy, cartoonish levels.

🎵 I'm flying high! But I've got a feeling I'm falling! 🎵 I love 20s and 30s music and it was one of the main things that sparked the inspiration to make this mod. I might make a remaster of this or just add in extra levels for fun.

Keep in mind this trailer is called "Metus Episode 2" before the idea of adding in episode 2's levels with the original Metus to make the remastered version. Metus will now be one full game, no episodes.

To install, simply drag "MetusDemo" into your Amnesia directory. Then, go into "MetusDemo", click and drag the "MetusDemo.bat" file into your Amnesia directory. Click on the .bat file and there you go! :)

For Penumbra ideas, play the fan-made Amnesia mods if you haven't already: Penumbra Necrologue, Twilight of the Archaic and Prisoner of Fate. Or watch the horror movie "The Thing" the original one from the 80s, it's certainly where Frictional Games took inspiration when they worked on the Penumbra games.

Well, I wouldn't consider it a remaster, just an updated version of the last, but there is certainly a good reason to do another let's play because of all the new content. Expect more cool updates for this mod in the future! :)
