Yeah, I've found that hiding the smaller (lets say 57mm etc.) on the flanks of attack and sticking something big like 76mm or an anti-tank squad in a trench to draw them in works quite well. Of course it all depends on the map :D. Roving anti-tank squads or rangers to attack when distracted is pretty effective as well.
Yep, if you look on their forums theres a patch that stops the mortar from being used somewhere.
Looks very much like Arsenal of Democracy. Does anyone know if its as complicated as AoD?
For the record, from my count on the Blitzkrieg Wiki, they have a total of ~170 units.
In the developers defense, They have added 3 separate groups per doctorine. Of course its going to have higher system requirements, the mod has to load 3 times more units per army even if it's only going to use 1. If you cant meet the system requirements for a retail game do you go to the developers and ask them to lower it? They'd laugh you out of the building! You upgrade, put up with it or you don't buy it. And these guys aren't even asking for money! The mod also aims for historical realism, hence the unit caps, those were what was actually available to those companies. Breaking the unit cap breaks the realism. I imagine the high popcap is there for exonomic reasons, stuff tends to die pretty quick in this mod, so you need to be able to replace them and hence the high popcap to increase income...
Have you tried directly copying the target from the regular CoH shortcut and then appending the end bit in? Also check that you haven't accidentally left part of the old target in. The "C\Program" isn't valid bit suggests to me that you may have done something like: "C:\Program "C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev -nomovies -mod Blitzkrieg (yeah i know its not blitzkrieg, its just the first shortcut i spotted). You also need to find out whether you have 32 or 64 bit Win 7, putting the (x86) on a 32 bit machine is madness. It should tell you in the properties of my computer, Also looking at your other post suggests that you're just guessing at the directories at the moment ('Well I did what you said and put it in (x86) and the shortcut accepted it'). Actually find the directory and copy the path to it.
Its pretty difficult, you need to run your own server and have it modded to look to your own battlefield statistics server. And that's putting it simply. It's a lot easier to explore the map and figure out where they have put the weapons on all of the maps (they have placed a lot of the unlocks on the ground in most of the maps).
If you do want to try and do your own server the place to start is here: Bf2statistics.com . You will have to know how to run with databases like oracle or MySQL pretty well though.
I've had that CTD problem on more than just this mod. Reinstalling the game fixed it for me. Havent had it on any mod since. Did you actually try anything to fix the problem?
