Has anyone tested Special K with Anomaly? Does HDR work properly? If so, that would be a major upgrade for the visuals.
Thanks.

NIce! For once, a Reshade preset actually worth downloading. You corrected the slightly oversaturated and "gamey" color palette of the mod, with a more gritty and realistic style - while not overdoing it (which tends to be the case with these Reshade presets).
Well done!
Thanks, but nothing happens. I pressed F1 then 1, only 1 etc., nothing.
The fault is with the gamedata folder permissions I think, since the 1000kg backpack config file didnt work either. I changed permissions to true true in the fsgame file, but it didn't work. Is there a different folder structure I need to use here, vs. other STALKER games?
EDIT>
I got an actor.ltx file from someone on the ap pro forum, and I changed the stamina settings in that file. That did the trick. Weird, but at least it works now.
Thanks, but if I press F1 in the game's main menu, nothing happens. No script menu pops up. Can anyone help?
Thanks again.
Are people seriously complaining about the size? It isn't 2007 anymore, graphical updates are necessary. Btw., many thanks for an amazing mod!
Amazing mod!
Could someone please tell me how to unpack the db files, so I can extract the actor.ltx file, to change stamina?
I tried the Anomaly unpacker, but the folders and file names are different here.
Thanks!
(Sorry for the double post.)
Anomaly is lots of fun and looks great, when using various addons, but it's basically a bare-bones sandbox story, so you can explore the various maps. The story in CoP is more focused and detailed - really more of a traditional story-based shooter.
Regarding your laptop, it's hard to say. The texture mods should't be more demanding on the GPU, maybe except for the weapons addon, if it uses more complex vfx for guns and explosions. The biggest thing is more vram usage, so it depends on your vram amount.
If you only use one mod, it should be Absolute Nature 4.04 (regular vegetation version). It makes for a huge upgrade, as the vanilla game looks rather rough by today's standards. If you have choppy framerate, turn down the shading quality. There will be fps drops certain places either way, because of the CPU-implementation of A-life and AI (not multithreaded afaik).
Seriously, CoP is such an immersive and atmospheric game, highly recommended.
Play CoP first, but use Absolute Nature 4.04, absolute Structures (texture mods), a mod for updated weapon models and sound (OWR 2.1) and maybe an AI and A-life mod too, if you can find it. Still looks amazing with those mods IMO, and the story is really good too.
No update mentioned on the Discord site. There is an old post there about a lock-picking script, but that's it.
Hi there,
I tried to figure this out myself a couple of months ago, and went through Discord. The main STALKER Discord group is very good for finding new mod releases btw.
When it comes to Anomaly, it seems the developers have lost motivation (maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it). The only update/info I could find, was some kind of lock picking script they were working on, which is a bit underwhelming.
Tbh this reminds me of CoC, when the development started to slow down. Having said that, playing Anomaly with about 140 addons, it's working pretty well. The graphics (esp. with Aydin's vegetation and SSS) are really great now. The thing I miss the most is a new campaign, with more elaborate quests. Also the cover system needs improvement, and the AI in outdoor fights could be better.
I've been going through the UNISG storyline, but when I got the mission to fetch documents from 5 different underground labs (yet again), I needed to take a break from the game.. :-S The main storyline as a loner is very serviceable though.
Anomaly Anthology seems promising, but is still in beta.
Great work, much apprecated!
One caveat though. With the new rain, campfires, lightning etc. will color all the rain, making it look yellow or glowing, which is quite unrealistic/jarring.
Is there a way to turn this off (or maybe it's a bug)?
Again, outstanding job!
I don't think I got it removed 100%, but using Mod Manager 2, and installing mods in the right order - the issue went away like 95%. Mod Manager is an absolute must, if you're not using it.
Can't tell you the right order though, I sold my GPU and stopped playing games.
Great addon! Hopefully the Anomaly mod makers can hurry up, and finally release 1.6 with all this great QOL addon functionality. Unfortunately your mod conflicts with several other QOL mods that I use.
Thanks for making this! Btw., does this mod support ultrawide resolutions (like 3440x1440, 3840x1600)?
OK, thanks for the reply. I tried the full version with 4K textures, and it gave a large fps-hit. This was at Garbage. Definitely too much of a performance hit IMO (I use a Geforce 4090). Btw. the leaves are black. Is this a bug?
PS: The new sarcophage/monolith audio would be more effective, if it weren't pitched down so low. If you made the partly distorted version sligtly less exaggerated/obvious regarding the pitch-shifting effect, it would be more immersive IMO.
Keep up the good work, these new addons are much appreciated!
Thanks, seems very interesting! Is it possible to make a version without hidden/invisible and dynamic/moving anomalies. I find that to be a huge frustration after a while, making traversing the maps much more of a hassle.
Keep up the good work!
Old post, but I recently realised I used a too high setting of the sun lumscale setting, which sometimes caused issues with the lighting (I used 2.1 with SSS). Now the colors are more balanced overall. Sorry about that.. :)
Hopefully you'll be able to update those dead trees (and maybe bushes) sometime, though. Your stuff looks so much better than the vanilla Anomaly vegetation, which now sticks out as sore thumbs. Great work!
Thanks again!
Use the transport companion addon, it's an absolute must.
Yes, the story is rather bare-bones for the most part, but the writing is decent, and it's quite good combined with the excellent open-world and gameplay mechanics IMO.
Choose a color grading preset in the console, and you get back the picture.
Any possibility to make an animation for NPCs climbing ladders? It's something that is really missed during certain missions. We have so many addons now, but an addon including animations for climbing ladders would be great.
Maybe a feature for Anomy 1.6 too?
Thanks, will try it out!
An example of a bad/misaligned scope zoom-in is Galil AR (Modern), the scope zooms in at the top of the screen. It's a great gun btw., so a fix would be awesome.
I don't know if this is easy to fix (not very familiar with how mods are made), but you looking into this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Great mod, thanks!
Btw. using 2d shader scopes, the animation for zooming in various guns (both Vanilla and BaS afaik) is wrong. The scope will zoom in at the top or bottom of the screen, before you see the 2d shader scope, which is immersion breaking.
This would also be a much welcomed fix. (Btw. I'm using an ultrawide monitor, and the BaS + 2d scopes ultrawide fix.)
Great mod!
However, the default settings could be improved for easier usage and better visuals IMO. The lowlum settings is too low, so you get glowing skies (0.4-0.45 is the best value) IMO. Then increase lumscale amb (ca. 1.3-1.35) and hemi (1.1-1.15) instead.
This is easily the best vegetation mod out there for Anomaly, so a big "thank you" from me. However, I would love to have something between the spring and summer, if possible.
Summer looks more like autumn IMO. I really like that in your mod, that there's plenty of variation, but a lot of it is dying vegetation. It would be great to have more different types of green vegetation, and some flowers and weeds here and there. Some occasional dead vegetation during summer still makes sense obviously in certain places.
The spring vegetation looks slightly oversaturated bright green, while summer vegetation is maybe a bit too desaturated-greyish green vs real grass. Don't get me wrong, your vegetation addons is great, but it would be great to have a color tweak to make it look even more realistic and "just right". (Using Screen Space Shaders.)
Keep up the work! :)
Hi,
No, it’s a “vanilla” Anomaly issue. I thought to mention it, in case there is something you could add to your shaders or something, if possible.
Thanks!
Just a small request:
When sitting around bonfires, the entire screen is blinking/flashing. The effect of the flickering flames is very exaggerated. If it could be toned down, it would improve the ambiance around bonfires.
Keep up the great work, it's much appreciated!
