Space Engineers

Early access game review

Although there can be some issues, the result of the issue is usually good for a very good laugh. And some of the things the community makes on the workshop are absolutely amazing. I owned this game for years before I even had a computer which could run it. I knew how to do basically everything before even booting it up for myself on a computer that could run it.

I love this game, and it's only been getting better. Keen pays close attention to the community it leads, and has recently overhauled the physics engine, making things a lot more stable and a lot more creations possible!

Robocraft

Game review

Robocraft... With about 2'000 hours logged in this game total, you can't say I haven't enjoyed it. And I still do, to an extent. Though nowhere near as much as I used to.

Megabots. The hype was real. Holy crap. For years, the hype about megabots being added was insane, and when they finally WERE added... it was nothing short of absolutely amazing!

But then... THEY TOOK IT AWAY. I left.

Then I came back. A new map was added, and we were given more CPU to work with, along with more toys to play with. It was fun for a while. Up to this point, Robocraft was never really pay to win. You could get along just fine without premium. For the most part, everyone was happy.

And then... The crates happened. The horrible, horrible crates happened. Now, you get almost nothing for your battles unless you're consistently top player. Even WITH premium, the rewards are disgusting. Non-premiums get half the parts that premiums get, and their parts sell for far less of the purchase price (but premium boosts that, too!). But what's truly offensive; there is no more levelling system. NONE. NADA. NOTHING. IT'S GONE. Everyone gets 2'000 CPU. Everyone gets access to the same parts. Everyone is shoved into the same "one size fits all" matchmaking system, and any poor newbie who decides to play gets absolutely destroyed by a seasoned veteran such as myself.

Right now, I do not recommend playing this game by any means. come back in a few months to find one what FreeJam has screwed up since the last visit. That's how I play now. Log in long enough to get my daily crate and leave.

Three years ago... I was flipping out because this was the perfect PVP game for me. I could make flying bots and have a blast. Now that's been taken away, because Flak cannons and missile launchers make aircraft a very hard thing to enjoy.

I wish we could go back... Go back and play some of the earlier builds of the game. Even if they had worse physics, they were far more enjoyable than the crap we have now.
