On a hunch i decided to test running the client and server on the same system. Once I did that I was able to register a user running from the server. Next I went back and ran the client on my workstation and I was able to add another user. It seems that once I added the first user from the server it initialized something that made it so I could register a user from another system. My son and I are in!

Thanks for the info; however, where? i have verified both the config.txt (left default for now) and the dbconfig.txt all the info in there is correct for my local server/DB. Is there some other configuration that I am missing?

I have been looking everywhere, but not finding a solution for the unknown registration error while creating an account on a personal server. I have installed on both Win7-x64 and on Linux and both seem to start up okay, and the database is loaded. Anyone with a fix or reason for this error?
