A longer time period ago I was just a normal player like so many others like you. But now I'm a developer and mapper myself. I will update my modpage as often as possible. Should you speak german then make also sure to visit my website which is supporting a game named: Operation Flashpoint.

Create a shortcut of your Hl.exe or Opposing Force.exe right click it properties and then add this in the target line at the end:

-game Military_Duty_v1 It'll now launch the mod directly through that shortcut.

Nice to see that this is back on track and still being worked on. If it wasn't for the large RM patch a while back who knows we might very well be playing RPG already.

Either way I'm totally looking forward to this and all the unique ships and structures that are planned along with it.

Truly stunning. I'd give the guards inside their station something to do though. few monitors on top the windows for monitoring purposes. Or perhaps a laptop on the desk.

Even a small walkie talkie laying next on that desk would make things more realistic. It's a guard station.. Somebody needs to reach them in case of some problems occurring. Having to approach them directly or through the announcement system may not be enough for a Facility of Black Mesa's magnitude. If worse comes to worse then at the very least a Mesa times on the desk. :D

Eventually add once more tiny key pads next to the doors on the inside.

That being said with exception of these tiny details everything else appears to be flawless. Fantastic work.

The Security door could need a minor keypad allowing the guard to enter per code. Other than that it's perfect.

Somebody even ported the Black Mesa Mod version models (not retail) some while ago into hl1 format. Some were actually usable as they weren't so HQ looking unlike their counterparts in Source Engine.. Might be worth checking it out as long as it's used in small quantities.

In reality the interior is like 1 meter broad if not less.. It's a tiny corridor soldiers walk through. Very tight and they basically sit almost on one another... they could touch their knees and legs if they wanted to.

I wish you two good luck on the remaining journey ahead.
It saddens me to read about your daughter at @Urby. But knowing you and your wife will be there for her makes it ok.

should you guys require additional testers for round 2 feel free to count me in if you like. When play testing hl mods I usually made tons of pictures with descriptions to them and added everything comfortably into a .pdf file.

As usual lovely work. As for the authenticity of the Osprey. I wouldn't necessarily see any problem if the Osprey looked exactly like the one seen in Hl+Op4. Some Military and Police assets throughout the world get specialized modified equipment & vehicles based upon their requests or what serves them best in the field. These modified constructions are extra makings particular to those units and not produced in series.

Anyway don't lose perspective. Seems you people waste far to much time on redesigns of redesigns = redesigns.

Don't forget actual unit implementation into the game. Balancing, play testing. Mapping of the SP story and Skirmish/mp maps. :)

alialatrach Sub skins are added within the models itself. MDL Modelviewer can decompile models.. In them you can add other files which are basically nothing else than text and picture documents containing the model information and textures.

Half-Life and Opposing Force can unfortunately only support a limited number of skins per model as that's hard coded.

I once had Op4 Grunts containing like 16 different heads. Pity they didn't work. Heads were swapping when they died or played animations. :P

For that amount of heads you indeed need to rewrite parts of the code for the game to allow more than that fixed number of sub models.

Thanks for letting me know about that k2baby. I may add official support for that in the future..

As for the Op4 content missing. Naturally you also need to link to the osx folder for Gearbox.

So best to make a copy of Gearbox.dylib and rename it to mil_duty.dylib and place it inside the folder where those files are stored in within mod folders.

I think it's time for a new large news-post regarding the current development of your mod. You guys are throwing screen after screen out to us..

But how is the mod itself coming along? Do you require additional personnel etc. etc. All valid questions and I'm sure many people are curious about a situation report as well. Pre-Alpha, perhaps an internal Beta already? :D

Seems this mod is coming along just nicely...

Lovely work folks. The trams would actually be an interesting concept to receive reinforcements for the Black Mesa team - special forces hev suit guys etc. (infantry) They could get unloaded at the nearest transport hub station in relation to your chosen map click point.

Thinking about a COH1 mod mission (Joint Ops) in which you received reinforcements per train.

Well it's hard to suggest any music style without having played your mod first. Judging by the screens your mod will pretty much fall in line with Half-Life itself. Both strong in scripting and possibly even custom voice acting.

I'd try to stick close to the Half-Life OST. Then again having the possibility to create your own unique songs it all really depends on the situation within the specific maps I suppose. That and what you intend to show - what you would like to portray in them.

Some drama and sad song when Grunts execute your fellow colleagues or perhaps something intense and rocking when getting chased by a helicopter. It really is situational dependent and in which style direction your whole mod generally speaking goes to.

Few suggestions. It may seem like a lot of negative criticism but I'm only that critical because it's close to perfection. :)

Model placeholder or not. The scene looks to clean. I suggest to cripple some of the boxes by cutting them into several brushes. Broken and twisted in various ways. The impact would also possibly throw few more boxes further away (aiming at that perfectly placed and still intact box formation left of the heli crash site.

Eventually add few larger decals onto the ground and carve the ground out a little further to symbolize broken and burned pavement. Perhaps a smaller fire near the heli as well.

For a place that was bombed this place looks largely intact. Valve portrayed that better in their levels. I'm sure you can do x20 better than they did. :)

Like most mappers that conduct mapping during daylight you seem to forget all about how this place may look like during nighttime. So please add few inactive lanterns or other light sources to the place.
