Thanks, c4p0w3r. Although some of these files have similar lengths & may work in L4D1, there would definitely be some issues. My friend is working on putting together a soundpack for the original L4D using sounds from my mod along with his own, so there might be a short wait for that, but it's coming :)

Thank you :)

Yes, in this download the mod is broken up into a total of 12 VPK's,
10 of which you can enable/disable in-game under:
EXTRAS -> Add-ons

The other 2 are for the modified DLC content.

Great maps, lots of fun & original game-play ideas & content. The only real issue I had was some trouble closing the mall's big doors; it was difficult to tell if they were starting to close or not, since they were somewhat out-of-view from the control switch. Also, I completely missed the guard's walkie-talkie the first time around & headed straight to the door control instead. All-in-all, this is a creative & high-quality campaign.

Just got word from a friend that running the console command "snd_updateaudiocache" (without the quotes) might do the trick, so try that first.

That's a weird thing to have happen. Try this: Navigate to the following directory :\xxxxxxxxx\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2_dlc2
and delete the file "pak02_dir.vpk".
This file installs all the L4D1 sound replacements including the original L4D survivors' voices. After deleting it, check to see if you still have the same problem. If so, it's not the soundpack. If not, that pak02_dir.vpk file may have gotten corrupted & I'd recommend re-downloading it. Thanks, I hope this helps!

Should be soon. One step in my installation instructions for this manual version is to make a backup of your original sound folders. Then, after installing my mod, if you find any sounds not to your taste, you can simply overwrite them with your originals.

Hmm, that's a strange problem you're having. Have you tried the "snd_rebuildaudiocache" console command I mentioned in the mod's ReadMe?
Give that a go & then see if it works. If not, I'd recommend downloading it again & simply installing over what's already there, then repeating the "snd_rebuildaudiocache" console command. Hope that helps!

After 'The Sacrifice' update, I personally did not experience any broken sound issues with the mod. I'm currently working on updating it to v1.1 to include new DLC replacements as well as some minor tweaks. There will be a vpk version of this available once this is completed.

Cool, Thanks! I'd appreciate the help. For some reason, my vpk.exe only works with extracting files from add-ons, and does not work when trying to compile/create vpk's :p

That was still some clever fiddling! I'd still get credit for the mod itself, but you'd be credited for converting it to a vpk add-on :)

Yes, that is correct GJ :)
Not sure what you mean by "the new VPK built-in sound chase". I was going to release v1.1 in much the same way as v1.0, (folder replacement structure), BUT since you thought of that brilliant work-around, would you be interested in helping me release a vpk version of it and be credited as such?

Thanks! I actually made the witch poster from a creepy photograph I came across. I gave the girl very long fingers, changed the water to blood and made up the mock Estee Lauder "Which" perfume advertisement.

I also made the 'Zombieland II in 3D' poster by altering the original 'Zombieland' poster. That poster doesn't actually exist yet, but I heard the sequel is being made & it will be in 3D, so I thought I'd let everyone know this way :)

It's really easy, first just make a backup copy of your two original sound folders, (my mod's ReadMe tells you where they are), then open the mod you downloaded with WinRar or Winzip, and simply click & drag everything in it into your main directory (x:\Program Files\Left 4 Dead 2), choosing 'Yes' to overwrite.
Installing the custom textures is a little more involved, but if you want to only install the sounds, that's it!
