What we’re working on
An Unreal Engine-based arena sword-fighting game with techniques based on historical martial arts systems from around the world, aiming for tactical variety and realism. Our systems use a mixture of keyframed and procedural animation, and integrate a number of features of the Advanced Locomotion System Community Plugin.

The first goal is making sure our core combat mechanics are robust, reliable and fun.

Assuming we nail these mechanics, we hope to quickly proceed to an early-access release.

Who we’re looking for
Applicants must have C++ and Blueprint experience. Ideal applicants will have worked on released games, but applicants with a portfolio of personal projects will also be considered.

Experience with procedural animation and UE’s animation systems (including Animation Blueprints) will be a significant plus. Experience with the Advanced Locomotion System plugin is also desirable but not essential.

We’re based in Australia, but we’re happy to consider applicants from anywhere in the world, as long as you are able to receive payment simply and securely.

What we’re offering
A fixed-term full- or part-time (fixed days per week) contract for industry-standard pay, plus a percentage of future profits. Our current budget allows us to offer approximately three months’ full-time work, or part-time equivalent. If our early-access release is successful enough, we hope to be in a position to offer an extended or permanent position.

Most of the designed systems are in-game in some form, and we have detailed documentation and a complete animation set ready and largely implemented. New and modified animation can be produced at short notice, so animation will not be a bottleneck for programming.
