So the general idea of the game is not really simple, but the execution should not be difficult; Basically I want to re-make this flash game as something more, more details, more math behind it, better interface and so on... A few of the ideas I had about it: Or something like this: Some other things would be a lot more details in medical stuff, making it more real and hopefully more immersive. From what I've figured out, this shouldn't be a really hard thing to do, eve though we don't have a lot of experience in this kind of stuff, there will be a lot of coding behind this game, and not that much graphical stuff, all we need is the menus, main GUI, and some artwork shots, as for the code; it will need to be balanced and probably re-balanced many times before this game is ready... I hope you find this as interesting as I do, if not even more; I would love to hear your opinions on this. |

So the whole zombie thing is on hiatus for now? The second one seems pretty good. Maybe that you can switch from chart to globe form. |

Now THAT is an awesome gimmick idea... no population=no lights... And yes, I was thinking about various charts that could be thrown in, maybe a few for each region, giving the player a general idea of how he's doing... Here's the first world map concept, feel free to give suggestions... |

never played it but will play some in my spare time.. will post back when i got a better idea if it can easily be remade interesting mostly looks like a fancy menu just keeping track of variables to me... but instead of just remaking it how about some mini games to unlock things like in spore at the start in cell level how you had to eat the other cells in order to survive could do something like that instead of just a point upgrade click you have to play as your disease and manage to survive to unlock the upgrade. ie if you want heat resist you have to play a mini game and survive for 1 game day in heat.. ie your parasite ect will have to look for water to keep hydrated by any means even if it means eating others to absorb their moisture and have shady spots where its not as hot and some hot spots if your in the hot spots to long your hydration level goes down faster ect and if you want to get a new trait of infection like fever ect you have to play a infection minigame where you navigate inside a human body messing with their organs bloodstream , antibodies ect and based on your actions their you can gain new symptoms to use during infection game... .. should also add STD to the list of ways infection is passed. Good ideas, didn't think about including mini-games into this i think that could work, as long as they're short enough and to the point so that they don't get boring to the player, a separate and different minigame for each symptom might be the way to go, we should also try and make it somewhat educational, including some scientific terms and similar... As for the transmission type list, we need to look over all the symptoms and everything medical-related to check credibility. |

some stuff we will need -Hospital Animals Train Station- Subway Shipyard Airport should probably try and think of some mini games as well we would like to see could be a strategy like a plants vs zombies instead - Viruses, Parasites,Infections vs Antibodies , White Blood cells From How Stuff Works
Antibodies are a type of protein. They are produced by the immune system in response to foreign substances that may be a threat to the body -- such as chemicals, virus particles, spores, or bacterial toxins. (These foreign substances are called antigens.) Each type of antibody is unique and defends the body against one specific type of antigen.or simply sometimes could be get a escape the T-cell game... |

What we need to do is categorize as much stuff as we can, something like this: we could use these as disease types. I'm still researching for more info on all of them... OK, my exams are now over, so I'll focus more on research;
alright, after some extensive research into viruses (so far I only covered them) I can safely say, that this stuff ain't easy, for the most part, even the scientist don't have an idea on how to classify all the different strains and families of viruses. this is what I have so far: (this is all derived from a LOT of other info, these are just the basics to figure out the way viruses work) -Category---Percentage- (Percentage: percentage of deaths out of all the infected cases) This is where it gets more complicated, I'll make another post with specific families and sub-families... |
