Can other types of art suffice or does it have to be a drawing, since I suck at drawing.
I have consider to do such kind of things later on too, maybe to next year.
You can design it anyway you want. Photoshop, pen and paper or even by painting!
So theoretically I could model and render it right? That said I'm not enough of a Yu-Gi-Oh fan to be able to make it accurate to or at least compatible with the source material so it's unlikely I'll be taking part either way.

Well, you don't have to be a fan to create something. Just Google a few pictures :)
