CTD after playing flash video Thread - Desura

After playing the flash video on this page Indiedb.com , Desura completely crashed. Not sure why exactly this happened, but I can say that it was exactly as the flash video ended and the "darkroom" effect for the entire page was supposed to dissipate.

I don't see any crash report-like files inside the Desura folder in Program files either.

might that be the same crash I reported a few topics down? It's named "Crash after video finished".
It happens for me when a video finishes that is displayed on a summary page but not when a video finishes I watch on the game / mod's video-tab.

Crash reports get automatically upload to our servers for the developers to analyse. Video crashing is a known issue (cause of flash) we are looking at converting them to html5 videos some time this week.

Spent all morning on this and have come up with a fix. It was actually the way chromium loads plugins that caused this bug however it happens differently in the proper version of chrome.

BUILD 26

On the summary page, I get "missing plugin" upon trying to play the video.

On the video page I get "You need to have Flash and Javascript running in your browser to see this." - I don't have to try to start a video, I get it immediately.

Not sure whether we have to download those plugins ourselves or whether Desura is supposed to do that.

Ah crap. Means the plugin i wrote to fix the crash is not picking flash up correctly (its included with desura). Will check it out.

Fixed the issue. Will be working in next release.

BUILD 27

I just tested it - viewing videos in the videos-page is fine and works with the new setup. But viewing videos in the summary crashes Desura. Not fixed.

I can't confirm that viewing videos in the summary page crashes Desura.

I played videos from two mods, neither crashed the application.

enenra, which mod or game video were you viewing? Could this be an isolated case?

I looked into the bug report and looks to be a non flash issue. Just luck that it happened at the same time

For the record, I can confirm it works now in both cases.

EDIT: It doesn't show up as a new post but please check my build 30 report in the "latest bugs" topic, Iodle (if you haven't seen it already). There's still the thing with the window size not quite working properly.
