Im not very familiar with Gurenn Lagann but from what ive heard it would most definately win.
Well
a) Neon Genesis evangelon is full of a bunch of emo people where as Gurren Lagann has simeon's drill (aka his fighting spirit if people here somehow didn't catch that symbolism in the series ... lol)
and
b) Gurren Lagann can get bigger ... much bigger >_>

Meh, EVA 01 can defeat it easier. And if it enters in Berserk mode...:D

You know, this is kinda amazing.
It seems EVA and Gurren Lagann are practically opposites in terms of morale
in eva the morale is so low people wonder why they fight which gets reflected in the EVAs (if you dont know what i mean, please note what happened when Asuka Langley Soryu became severely depressed. She wasn't able to control her machine well)
in Gurren Lagann, it's as if their high morales also directly power their mechs.
my dream just came true O_o
Hilariously enough, Gurren Lagann is actually about five metres tall while Unit-01 is somewhere between forty to two hundred metres tall.
This makes Gurren Lagann's victory all the funnier.
Basically, Yui would be swiss cheese and Shinji would be meat pureé
Not that Simon would ever do that to him, however. They're buddies.
