Cannot launch game Thread - FleetCOMM

When attempting to launch, I receive a Desura popup: "Failed to launch item. Failed to launch item FleetCOMM, File is not valid exe [C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\Vigior\vigior.exe]. [61.0]"

I am running a fully patched Win8x64. I deleted the FleetCOMM folder and files multiple times and have tried every combination of verification and re-installation.

this seems to be a problem related to desura, i´m getting the same since the latest patch.
if you start the exe directly through windows it runs fine.
