Valkyrius is a 2D shoot-'em-up ("shmup") for Windows from indie studio Iridescent Games. It features six stages of frenetic bullet hell action, huge bosses, and an innovative and intuitive warping mechanic. Five difficulty levels make it accessible to the casual and hard-core alike, and local 2p co-op (at least one gamepad required for co-op mode) lets a friend join in on the action. Unlock medals, modes, artwork, soundtracks, and modules which give your fighter special abilities. Local and online high score tables are available for each mode & difficulty.

Loved the game. I almost wish that they would make a serious update to this to make it more polished. loved the weapons and upgrade system.

Top notch danmaku. The teleport mechanic makes the game fresh and a lot of fun! One of the few ones from recent years that genuinely feels innovative!

The only drawback is the character art, which is a bit rough. With an update to that, you could easily sell this game in Japan and have it feel native. =)

Great controls, intuitive mechanics, and spot-on soundtrack. It's exactly what a shoot-em-up should be. Teleportation makes it a unique experience, and it's implemented very well. If you're a fan of the genre, there is nothing to complain about. I imagine it's somewhat short, but I'm having enough trouble getting through it that it doesn't really matter, and it has several difficulty levels. Very fun and worth the money.

Valkyrius is quite a nice surprise. Having not followed development, I jumped at the discovery of a new title in this most under represented genre. After putting in roughly 2 hours with the game, I can confidently say it's well worth the asking price and then some. Initially the warping and dual wielding style of gameplay took some getting used to, but by the time I adjusted, I was warping and making strategic use of the dual weapons like it was 2nd nature. It's a very satisfying setup. Things start off a bit mild, but before you know it you'll be engaging tougher enemies and some truly thrilling bosses. Lots of unlockables, online leaderboards, difficulty options and settings round out the experience.
