Disclaimer: I am a fan of the boats of WW2 - especially the battleships. In other words, I really like the setting.

Unfortunately, this implementation is... poor.

Manoeuvering is very simplistic
- Ships turn around an axis in discrete steps, so the rear of a boat often turns into torpedoes that you should be safe from.
- The ships can be piled on top of each other.

The AI is... stupid. It does not deserve the 'I'.
- Torpedoes are fired at small fast-moving PT boats, rather than saved for juicy targets.
- Torpedo salvoes are fired at the same target multiple times even if the last salvo hasn't hit yet. That is really _basic_ don't fire again until you know where your last salvo went.

The maps are simplistic to say the least.

I have tried playing the game, and I have tried liking it, but it is really not that good.

This is a well done classic through back to old school games and is fun if your just looking to kill 15-20 mims.

Thunder Fleet is an alright platform for this game but it has its draw back's such as holding your fire untill your close that 1 well times torpido shot from 1 of the weakes ships can destroy the bigges battle ship (the Atlantic) thats 50 times is size. Also the map is the same and there is not variety such as Vs more NPC, larger maps, more dock's or being able to upgrade certen aspecs.

But in the end looking past all its folts it is still an exelent game
and i recemend that you play this game

so 5 winking fish out of 10

It's a pretty fun game for the price. It's a very simple strategy game. As other have mentioned, the UI and controls hurts the game a little. Some of that I think they fixed in Blue Libra. The game also crashes a bit for me. It would have been nice if there were more maps and/or if there was an easy way to replay single player maps without playing through the game again.

Given the problems, I would be tempted to rate it a little lower, but the game has been addictive for me. I like it.

Very good idea, very nice HUD and gameplay.
But there are a lot of small and annoying defects.

It holds promise to become a big hit in the indie scene especially for supporting more than just windows. A few small niggles in the user interface that need improving and it will seriously kick some butt.

for its price i can give it 8 of 10 and also its a fun game
