Dear gamers and indie fans

Posting our game project here on indieDB has been a great experience. The feedback from you fans has been really helpful. Admittedly, we've being a bit quiet after the release of our Beta/Demo. Remember, we're only a two men team working on this in our free-time and we have been productive all the time! So now you deserve a BIG update.

The journey of our hero Endres is coming to an end. After having been tossed into an ancient labyrinth, he was called by a mysterious spirit named Oseyra (the first level). The place is ancient and full of godly and ungodly forces, in the form of helpful runestones and undead guards. But he was able to use the environment to his benefit, by staying in the shadows. He found a specifically powerful runestone and a secret chamber that provided the means to open the exit of the labyrinth.

Of course, this only lead him deeper into an underground cave (the second level). At first, the guards there did not expect an intruder, since only few people have ever managed to come so far. Then his way back was cut off by a squad of skeleton archers that were following him. The only other way was through a forgotten temple. The entrance was secured by a puzzle testing the wisdom of clerics, but Endres was able to solve it.

The temple level

He enters the temple only to find out the basement is not devoted to finding enlightenment at all, but houses an armory and a dungeon (part one of the third level). What kind of god is this place worshiping? In the armory our hero acquires a weapon that finally gives him an edge over the skeleton guards:

A crossbow!

There are two types of bolts for it. The magical ice bolts can extinguish any fire, creating more shades for Endres to hide. They can also freeze a guard, but only for a few seconds.
The regular bolts are only a threat to the skeletons if wielded by a skilled shooter, because one has to hit them in their small energy crystal to rob them of their magic power.

So much for the lore. In reality, we are working in parallel on the shooting mechanic and the final level. We still aim for a very careful and stealthy playstyle. The skeletons outnumber you, reloading takes time and you have to hit very accurately to actually kill a skeleton. Which of course will alarm nearby guards. So you better stay silent, freeze the guards and kill them only from the safety of the shadows!

The schedule

Besides the new level and weapon we've created, we've add all the missing sounds to the previous levels. We're coming along nicely, so

a release of the full game in the summer

looks likely. But first we will release a

final demo at the end of march.

Beta closed

We do not want to follow the practice of staying in beta for eternity. The first two levels are already feature complete, but we need to weed out any remaining bugs.
For now, we're closing the beta. Unfortunately, this means there will be no download available in the mean time. The feedback we've received from you has been so helpful. We're fully grateful for that. That's what we wanted from our beta release. Now we want you to anticipate our full releases!

Let's talk about Let's plays

A nice experience for us was watching Let's plays of our game. We're realized more than a few problems by looking at how other people are playing. Here is a roundup of the gameplay videos that we found or you have been posting directly.
To the creators of these videos: Thank you so much!!! Your taste is awesome!

English

French

What more can a developer hope for? Maybe more Let's plays in more languages? We'd definitely like to see those.

At least we know what you can hope for! ;)
Mark your calender:

The release of our final demo will be at the end of march.
