SWAP is a first person puzzle game, where the player must use a mechanic called SWAPPING to progress through each level. SWAPPING allows the player to select a object or colored tile then select another object or colored tile, and then the two objects or tiles will SWAP places. However not all objects are SWAPABLE, and each object has a purpose or a thing it can do. You must construct a way to pass each level by using the unique properties of each object combined with the ability to SWAP them throughout each level.

I saw the following review, which points out quite some big issues. * framedrops / temporary hungups I’m not sure a vote where you can not change your vote later on is a good way to get input on issues. At least if you plan on fixing some/them. |

Yes i am in the proccess of fixing these bugs right now. |
||

I was going to report some of those issues too. I hate that white screen that doesn't show anything loading. I thought the game froze. Is there some place I can see the specs for the game? It's kind of laggy when I look around sometimes. I'm running a 2.4Ghz AMD quad-core, 4GB memory, Radeon 6850 graphics card so I should be alright. |

Yes your setup should be more then enought but i am working on optimizing the game so it should run much smoother. |

Okay some more bugs: - Level 2: with the glass up top with the elevator in the middle. From the outside it's possible to jump up onto the outside of that glass box and sit on up there. I couldn't get around to get inside, as I fell off trying to get around the corner. - Level 3: There is some kind of button on it. I have no clue what it does. I'm not sure if this is the intended solution to the puzzle, but those blocks you can jump on. You place them on the floor and they bounce you up.. but if you place them on the side wall they bounce you up also, even though the graphic looks like I'd slide across the floor. So my solution to the puzzle was just carry the block up top and I can rocket myself over that glass wall to jump down into the exit. - Level 4: Holy tough! I'm glad there's a level selection, because I don't think I can do all those jumps to get up there. Will really frustrate me. I did try to attempt this level and when I finally did make a jump I went through the wall and I was stuck. Is there any way to make a screen shot? |
||

On the level 2 bug im somewhat confused as what you mean? Level three the button will lower the arm sticking out in the air allowing you to cross. Yes you can make a screenshot just hit print screen on your keyboard or if your on a laptop it is usually Fn (function) and then printscreen. |

Let me try to get you screen shots to clarify level 2. - Level 5 -- this is the level with the first block you can only push. To the right of the blue button to reset the cube there's a blue pipe or whatever going up the wall. If you take the bouncy thing and put it under the wall, then jump, you will go up and through the wall and be stuck. I did try to take a screen shot earlier, but it was just a black square. Actually I'll see about shooting a video. Okay first video is up.. in it you can see me on Level 3.. I couldn't figure out how to push the button. So, I put the bouncy block there and jumped over the wall to the exit. It's not the right solution to the puzzle and maybe you wanted to fix it, maybe you can't fix it, but thought I'd let you know.. the arrows coming out of the block makes you think you'd be shot outwards not upwards. More to come very soon. Okay here's two different videos of the Level 5 bug. In the first video look where I put the bouncy and look where I end up.. inside the wall: Now, in this second video I put the bouncy in another spot, land on top and fall right through the wall: One last video.. this is level 2 where I said I could walk on the outside of a wall: |

Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. All the problems have now been fixed the update 1.3 will be out today. Also the button you just go up to and press E |
||
Jul 29 2012 Anchor | ||
No problem. Since you viewed them I've taken down those videos.. don't want your game to get bad press. If I find anything else in the new version I'll let you know. I guess it's still uploading or something? I can see swap_setup (1.3) but when I downloaded it says 404 file not found. I'll wait a bit. |
||
Jul 29 2012 Anchor | ||
Alright thanks. Ya it is still awaiting approval by desura, sorry about that. |
||
Jul 30 2012 Anchor | ||
Yeah, no problem. I'm new to Desura, so didn't really know how it works. All I know is I wanted to play and I wanted to play now lol. |
||
Jul 31 2012 Anchor | ||
Demo is up now if you want to play. I hope you enjoy it |
||
Jul 31 2012 Anchor | ||
Once they approve 1.3 I can give my feedback on that.. they really should have a different system on Desura than just saying the 404 file not found message. I'm going to go suggest that. Maybe old version should still be downloadable for people who need it and the new one is not up yet. |

ya i agree the 1.3 full version and 1.3 demo are both up now though |

I posted over there: I shouldn't be penalized just because I don't want to install their client just to play one game. It's not to say I won't want any other game they offer in the future.. I very well may. I just hate unnecessary things installed. Freaking Turbo Tax is ridiculous. Installed 2010 version to do my taxes and it installs an updater in the background that always runs. I then got Turbo Tax 2011 and it installs a second updater. |

ya i guess its just kinda like the steam client but ya i can see how it is annoying. |

Here's a video of Level 7.. I am sure this is not the intended solution to the puzzle, but I can walk through the wall and finish the puzzle in only a few seconds: As usually lemme know and I'll take down the video. |
||
Aug 1 2012 Anchor | ||
ehh ok thanks for showing me that ill get to work on fixing it for the 1.4 patch thanks |

Here's a video of Level 8. I have no clue what that black box does.. you can see me trying to figure it out. Then, as you can clearly see I am not over the hole but fall through anyway and can walk around under your map: PS - I hope I am giving you right level #'s, but you'll know by looking at them. 'Cause I think that was level 8, but went back in game to try level 9 and that same level loaded. So, maybe that's something? Either your loading screen say Loading Level 8... or have it say it when you get in the level then it disappears. Also, when you fall off a level your only option is restart. Would be nice to have Main Menu and Level Select there. .. okay I'll take video level 7 down. |
||
Aug 1 2012 Anchor | ||
its actually level 9 i think your right though it is loading the wrong level, i will fix this aswell as the whole you found. |
||
Aug 1 2012 Anchor | ||
The reason I wasn't sure what level it was loading, is because I was walking into the level and spinning around real quick, so I could look at the bottom of your map while it loaded. Okay, thanks. I didn't even think to try the E for the piston. I will take that second video down. I bet you're learning a lot more about Blender in the process. I Google'd and it seems they're porting or found a way to make Blender work on Android devices. That would be pretty neat if I could play this on the go. I pre-ordered this quad core gaming Android machine that will work on my huge television. Should be out next year. Would look great on my 42" HD. |

ya there is this program called gamekit with will run blender games on ios and android, that may be my next project Ya i have learned a ton threw out making SWAP Edited by: Vurb |

Aug 2 2012 Anchor | ||
Well, if you ever work on a SWAP 2.. or something else I might be interested in, I'll glad to try stuff out for you and I'll still buy a retail copy when it comes out. Maybe you'll do SWAP 2.. or maybe you'll change the game title. I originally saw the game, but when I went back to buy it I had a hard time locating it. Not exactly easy to find Swap in Google because I get a lot of other results. |
||

ya i probaly will do another one i dont know when but ya i was going to ask you if you wanted to be like a beta tester for it you seam to be good at finding all the bugs |
