Survivalist has passed the XBox Live Indie Games Peer Review process and is now available to dowload!
To play it, turn on your XBox 360, sign in to XBox Live, navigate to Games, then Browse Games, then Indie, then New Releases.
As you will see, the box art looks absolutely hideous on the XBox 360! Due to being shrunk down and compressed, the lead character has no eyes. It will take a while to submit a fix for that, so in the meantime try not to let it put you off. Here's what it's supposed to look like:
I've been working on this game a long time and it's a huge relief to finally be able to share it. Shame about the box art.

What's it about?
Survivalist is a mishmash of genres, a non-linear story-driven action-RPG with RTS elements. You play as Joe Wheeler, a wealthy former hedge fund manager who survived the zombie apocalypse by hiding in a custom-made bunker for year. Having run out of food, you now have to figure out how to survive in this new world. You can recruit people to join your community, build your base, scavenge supplies, farm crops, trade with other communities, go on quests and battle with looters as well as the "infected". There's a mystery to solve, a hidden treasure to hunt down, a love story, politics, and fetch quests. It's a big game.
Cool, I like the hud. Comic book style framing looks nice. Going to look for it now.

It sounds like Alice died somehow, you should have got a "Quest Failed" message asking you if you wanted to reload the last savegame or continue anyway. If you choose continue anyway then you will miss out on a bunch of tutorial-y quests introducing you to the game. (I guess that's something I ought to make clearer?)
I got the key from the dead chick and let the girl out and there was no other quest. Do I just make a new game?
Love the game so far. SAVE OFTEN! Tragedy strikes frequently! Still rockin' my bunny backback post-apocalypse style.

Is this Turn Based?
No, it's an action-RPG. So like an action game but with stats (Firearms, Fitness, Medical, Farming and Construction). e.g. Firearms affects your likelihood to hit someone and how much damage you do.
I was interested in this game the second I saw it, but the $5 price tag turned me away. I bought it when I noticed it went down to $3 and noticed that the dev cares enough to engage and patch.
first impressions, the Alice thing is a big issue I'm conflicted on. should I try and save her on my first playthrough? I noticed it may not be possible without robbing a doctor, can't see her surviving if I try and play nice with others. also, the command interface is somewhat hard to get used to, I'm sort of bad at micromanaging my little base while primarily focusing on my far off group of insulin hunters. I kind of want to play a game without her first, but I'm going to think less of myself.
Bob! Playing the full game now and you did everything so, so right! This game is sick, I love the base building mechanic and the whole lean towards scavenging, farming, and surviving. I really get an old-school Fallout vibe from the game, but with a real-time twist (loved the bottle caps reference). Well worth 3 bucks, having played it for a couple days I would have gladly paid more. This is what indie gaming is all about, way to kick ***!
A couple of suggestions: SFX volume control would be nice in the menus for those of us with loud tv's and cranky sleeping girlfriends... and an option for determining autosave frequency or a quicksave feature would be really handy!
Good game . Loving it so far. My only complaints is that choosing "Die scum" is not good because they will kill you in a blink of an eye , specially if you dont have bulletproof. There should be an option to kill NPCs without alert them or if via chat then make them not so good at shooting , i couldn't kill miss Reed because is imposible, same happened with some looters after chat with them .
How do you farm I have the seeds but I can't plans why and I have lvl 1 on farming also
You equip the seeds with left or right on the dpad (like a weapon). Then press A to plant them. You need to be on suitable ground (i.e. sand, not tarmac). And also make sure you have a nearby well and a watering can and someone to tend to them as there's not much point doing it otherwise.

Amazing game 10/10 but like someone said...ending does leave some loose ends...was rather upset it ended..looks like ill do a new game because its that good.
